Dudes? I am at the end here. My computer is still freezing at ANY time during play. On the pizza map it is ever 20mins or less. I have reinstalled Dx8.1, Vid drivers, sound drivers, Defragged, sent numerous films and emails to support@hitech..., tried lowest resolution, highest resolution, reinstalled the game (numerous times), even tried sweet talking it. AH 1.10 Hates me. Tell the AH gods I'm really not that bad. I play other VERY intensive online games and do NOT experience computer freezes. I have been plagued with these troubles everysince 1.10. Even after a fresh Windows install AND a new video card. My gawd man, in all my days of online flight sims, this is the worst ever! I need more help if I am to pay for something unplayable.
Win98se
celeron@850(good cooling)
390megs ram
gf3 64mbddr (29.42 Det drivers)
Diamond mx300 sound
ch control setup
cable connect
Dx8.1
PS. plz make the pizza map go away... I mean, can we vote on it?

Same here since last 1.10 patches.

try setting your agp to 2/1x rather than 4x?
-
My board only has 2x graphics I think. Ok, but I think I might be on to something here. I actually figured out how to turn down sound acceleration now. Think I did just have it turned down on the record side and not the playback? Anyway, I turned them both down to where they say its runnin on emulation I think it was and I have not had a freeze up in a few flights. Can someone give me some clarification on what this means? New drivers or new card?

btw, what mobo do you have?
i used to have an ecs mobo, i forgot what model, and it used to frequently hang in AH, other games they still lock-up but not that much. the technicians say that the mobo doesn't like my gf4 ti4200. they changed my mobo into an asus and its working ok now.

Did you try setting back default FSB speed i.e. not overclock?
-
I use an Abit BM6 board... its an older board but works well... I thought I might have had it fixed after installing the newest Det drivers, 30.82, but just had another game freeze. I have not tried unclocking yet, but I will. My cpu runs at 39deg pretty much all the time, so I feel like I have enough cooling.. dunno though
-
im running
Compaq P4 1.5
Ram 512
cyber gold usb
Geforce 4 128
Win xp
I connect via verizon DSL, but that's not the problem the game freeze's even when playing off line, I posted in bug report but no help yet, I like the game but it's becoming unplayable, the old verisios worked fine, the problems started an upgrade or two ago.
Any help???

Well, I cleaned my cpu fan and pretty much my whole computer of dust and such. Thought that I might have fixed it, but have since had 2 more freezes. Both in 262s, go figure.
Is there ANYONE who works for HTC that reads these post? STILL looking for a solution. Others, it seems, have this same problem but still nothing from HTC that I have read. Anyone, Anyone?

trying to help a bit ...
do the game freeze happen also off line ?
-
You CPU temp is only part of the issue when overclocking. Have you tried to run at stock speeds yet?
What FSB are you running at?
-
39C under load or at idle?>

dang kappa, that's funny and painful at the same time!
hope you get your problems fixed
-
39C under load. Cleaning out the dust bunnies did help though. Running bout 37C now under load. Im clocked at 100fsb. I'm pretty certain bout the temps but I dont have any software installed to monitor temps in Win. Have to ck from bios. At idle, say when I first boot up, is in the low 30s. I have my bios temp warning set at 45C, once the temp reaches this I have an audible alarm.

hows the cooling for the vid card?
leave the box open and place a table fan blowing in just as a test

Kappa you have to remember that overclocking your FSB also overclocks PCI and AGP ports and some display cards respond badly to out-of-spec AGP speed..
Edit: Unless your motherboard can be set to default 100Mhz that would change the multipliers back to normal settings.
So if you still lock up, reduce to stock speed and try again.
Look at the bright side: If it starts to work you have an excuse to ditch the crap-o celeron finally :)
-
yup,. had a ton o problems overclocking as the AGP also get overclocked. A lot of screen freezes and Dumped to desk top. Best not to overclock or try reducing Hardware preformance in your Video card setup.
My best guess would be the card just does not like the OCing...
Dog out............

at 100MHZ bus the AGP port is not overclocked. With any recent motherboards you'll have an agp divider. I don't suspect this is the problem, but RTFM and you'll see for sure.
-
The BM6 is not a recent mobo...
I'm not saying it doesn't overclock the AGP.. just saying

BM6 is recent enough... I guess we could go DL the manual and know for sure... Should be in the bios right under CPUsetup.
/:edit
this is right out of the manual. with this being a BX board running with the default divider and at the 100MHZ FSB you ARE NOT running the AGP out of spec.
AGPCLK/CPUCLK:
The default setting is “ 2/3”. In this state, the AGP bus speed will be the CPU bus
speed divided by 3 and times 2. If you choose the setting to “ 1/1 ”, the AGP bus
speed will equal to the CPU bus speed.

Thanks dudes... This setup w/ overclocking and all is the same I have used for the last few years. It has untill now worked flawlessly. Sorry I have not responded sooner but as you can understand I was worried I might jinx myself. I think I have found my fix by bumping up my cpu voltage. No lockups for the last 2 nights. All else seems ok now. Guess my celery is just gettin old and needs a lil more juice to keep clicking. 8) I'm now running at 1.65v. Please think kindly of me as I could use all the good carma obtainable.
thanks all for making me think,
