Title: Spit V Climb Undermodelled in AH
Post by: funkedup on October 03, 2002, 03:34:58 PM
The AH Spit performance (http://www.hitechcreations.com/models/spit5.html) matches very close to the historical data (http://www.fourthfightergroup.com/eagles/aa878.html).

Except the AH Spit V can only get about 3500 fpm, while the real one could get over 3700 fpm.

And remember that this climb rate error will translate into an acceleration error in level flight.

So it's a double whammy.

It must be part of HTC's great conspiracy against Spitfires.
I quit.  :)

How in the world did you notice a -200fpm climb rate? With the MkV theres usually no need to look at instruments! Like the MkIX and the Nikki, I mean .... no stall, no spin, vertical climbs :p
