heres something for you all to think about, another thing we have asked for for ages which would GREATLY add to the capability of LW 190f8 :
caption reads:
'a close up of the bomb fusing selector panel for the fw190, mounted beneath the centre of the instrument panel. The electrical bobm fusing system enabled the pilot to select the type of fusing prior to release, thus giving a measure of flexibility when delivering an attack. The simple pointer switch could be set to safe(auf), for diving (Sturz) or horizontal (Wagerecht) attacks, with delayed fusing (mit: Verzogerung:MV) or without it (ohne Verzogerung: OV).A longer delay fuseing was required for low altitude horizontal attacks than for dive attacks.Lights above the fusing panel illuminated as each of the bombswas released.VFW-fokker'
this is a fantastic piece of kit for attacking GV's over buildings or for low level attacks. This would mean there is no need to pull up for the drop which would make the 190 the best jabo plane in the game for surrise attacks! and the safest for dropping at low alt.not only that but it would be something you could choose whilst airborne! Did the allies have this? I cant find anything about it but i dont have much on allied ground attack planes.Seems its yet another feature the 190f8 should have but doesnt to add to the lack of extra armour and lack of loadout options.

Yes we must have the uber blanked out round instrument mounting position.
-
funkedup what? you make no sense but i assume its some dig at requests from someone who flies LW
why is it always a f**kin problem to ask for anything on LW planes???????? makes me sick the attitude in this place.
-
OK I should be more direct:
I can't read the caption. What are you trying to show us in the picture?
-
Oh, you added text, nm.
FWIW I think I asked HTC for this around the beginning of 2000. :)
It would be nice for exterminating roaches and other ground-crawling pests. :)
-
the selector switch that is actually in the panel.

reason i didnt put it all in at once was typed it out then was told file too big and lost all id written. so i did it in 2 stages to save me having to rtype it AGAIN!
Ive recently started to look into all the LW indescrepenies that i 'feel' are in AH but are incredibly haard to prove.Damage, engine vulnerability, effectiveness of guns, wep systems etc etc.
Im sick of being called a whiner for asking for things that are part of the aircraft and its getting to the point that i want to quit the game on principle! only i still love it so its hardly worth cutting off my nose to spite my face.:D
It really is sad how this BB works.Sorry funked for jumping on you but im a bit tetchy lately.my appologies.

No problem dude.
At least you didn't call anybody a Nazi. :)

Another issue you may want to look into is the Fuze modeling on the 21cm Rockets, I did A post on this a while ago,I will see if I can it and punt it up. Aparently the fuze would point detenate if it struck priour to the time running out.
-
Also the Mosquito should have the option of fused bombs - for low level bombing they used 11 sec delay to protect themselves and following a/c.

yes speaking of WR21 they are listed in all my books as having 1000 metre range which is around 3000 yards.
In AH for some reason they are 1200 yards which just handily enough puts your aircraft well within range of the super 50 cals...
how unusual :)

On a low and level bomb run your ord has no effect, they're just swallowed up by the ground here. something to do with previous carbombing problems
-
mr blonde this has nothing to do with the present anti carbombing method.
that was introduced to stop people dropping bombs on takeoff to kill passing vulchers.Having a 1 second delay on your bomb for a fuse wouldnt mean you can start bombing on the ground.
I can understand why that was done but i believe the present system doesnt 'arm the bomb unless it has travelled 1000 yards.
why they chose 1000 i dont know but it seems a bit excessive, after all if it was 200 yards it would still stop carbombing.
what we need is a way to use this system the LW had. I would like to be able to try to do what the LW did in russia which is fly a 0feet straight at a tank drop the bomb into the side of a tank and pull out, then a second later as you clear the blast area BOOM goes the tank.
apparently they could skip the bombs along the floor and right into the tracks when they got profficient at it.I know this would be too hard to do in AH according to previous posts ive read(although i still dont understand why) but surely there is a way to make the actual calculation of where bombs hit and the subsequent blast/graphics display etc delay by a second or 2?
we dont have to see a graphical representation of the bomb sticking out the floor its enough to know where the bomb object intersects with the floor is where the blast will be some second or so later.
is this really that hard to do?
another thing , when we finally do get submarines etc arent we going to need some type of mine or depth charge? and wouldnt that require a delay of a lot more seconds as it represents the sink to depth? just a thought, it sounds like same sort of thing.

1000 m = 1100 yds = 3300 ft
-
in "The Jolly Rodgers" Tom Blackburn mentions using time delayed fuses on the 'Chatte Flambee' mission (low level dawn attack on geisha house@Rabaul).
didn't some of the LW 21cm rockets use sonic or magnetic proximity fuses?
-
lol, they made a NOE run on a potatohouse? WHY?
-
based on the types of cars photographed around the building on previous mornings they figured it was the best way to kill the top brass
-
At the moment if you drop bombs at 75ft level and 300mph they travel just over 1000 ft and will blow your arse off.
BTW as Hazed said we did this thread a while ago for RAF delayed fuses if you ignore all the flames there's actually some good information in there.

thnx for the link gatso.
to be honest the 11 second fuse seems like an excessive delay.Did they use it so following aircraft werent killed by the leads bomb blast?
All i know is i just read all about 190s USING the skip effect of the bombs to hit the sides of tanks.AKdejavu seems to be really against fused bombs for some reason in that threadbut im finding it hard to understand why.
seems to me the fuses were used and so should be seriously considered for AH.would it really be so hard to model? surely the bombs are already calculated for trajectory and impact point so why not add some bounce affects if the bomb is fused for delayed ignition?
