This is for all planes bascially, but lets say I wanted to make a new skin for the Dora. I saved the textures, and I found this file (see attachment.) Lets say I want to make desert camo, now my problem is, how do I keep the lines on the wings and stuff? Is there a way to only remove the dark green/light green, but keep the metal seam lines? Thanks
BTW: I am using an older version of Photoshop for this (5.0).

not until we get layered templates I think.
otherwise you'll have to do them from scratch.

Mine will be layered... laid-out in Illustrator and exported to Photoshop, so you will be able to repaint below the panel line/ weathering layers.
I'll be happy to share them as I finish them.

Dux, you da man!!!
please let us know as I'm sure there are lots of us that can't wait to get started.
Actually I would prefer the Illustrator

What Dux said, although I'm a heathen Paint Shop Pro man. Anyone have plans to create a resource site for all this lot? downloadable default panel lines would be soooo useful.
BTW. Attached the Dora wing panel lines that I'm playing with. Image is 256 colour grey, should just overlay to whatever you've done Heinkel.

Wow, thanks gatso, I keep trying to do that, but it ended up comming out weird everytime i tired :) Whats your secert?

With PSP, I apply an edge enhance to make the panel lines more obvious, and then a trace contour which dumps all the colour and just highlights any colour transitions. Greyscale it and clean it up a little. The crosses needed taking off by hand and a few extraneous lines but it was actually dead simple, took about 5 mins and it should work for just about any texture except maybe the C205 or ones where the lines are obscured by other things. :)
I left that one 'messy' with bits of the weathering and shadows on, figuring it would be easier for you to take them off that it would be to add them again. The ones I'm using I take off nearly everything except the basic panel lines.

Yes you can do this by using your eyedropper tool and clicking on the color and it will just erase that color.

neat............. Library of rivit and panel profiles is just what we need..............
I would reccommend that we work in 16 million colours or more on a picture size at least 1024 x1024.......
then we reduce size and colour (in that order) for the final bmp.
