Somebody has been living in a hole.

The USAF has had lasers for years.

There are currently a number of 747s being built/converted to carry a high-powered laser mounted in a rotating rturret on the nose.  The system is designed to shoot down missiles from hundreds of miles away.

There is also a laser system being designed to operate on the JSF.

Yes, very interesting. Thank you very much for the links. Now if I can only get someone to do my chores for me and get all this stuff done at home so I can read some of these things. Laundry, garbage, dishes, etc...
