I am used to play aces high a lot and then well flying the spits are fun and all the other planes some i am new to but now are very familiar to. I was wondering if you ever heard of the sea fury or "the duck" or something of the sort (i forgot its formal name) which was a vehicle used largely in the invasion of Normandy which had the ability to go on and off land.
The Sea fury was the fastest prop plane in the war. Plus there are a wide range of planes i am familiar with and would love to fly. There is the Firefly which was a british plane used as a fighter/dive bomber on the land and sea.
American plane i have yet to see is the p-36/hawk 75.
German Me 210/410 Hprnisse, Fw 200 condor.
Jap Plane Ki-45 Toryu"Nick", B5n"kate"
If you want info on these planes e-mail me at knight19@midsouth.rr.com
I hope i am not the only one who might be tiring of the same planes but if i am so be it but i still think that these planes would be a group of aricraft thatwould make their mark. I even have histories on them if anyone is interested.
-
Well get out of those god forsaken spits and into a 110.;)
-
The Sea Fury saw no combat in WW2 (I'm not even sure it had even entered service). I'm pretty sure it saw its first combat in the Korean conflict.
We already have amphibious tanks and landing craft.
-
First conflict it was in action in was Korea I believe. Nor was it the fastest prop plane of the war. Had about the same speed as a Tempest I believe. Quite a few were faster then that. It's a cool plane though :)

in 1948 an Iraqie Fury attacked an Israely beufighter flow by ex-RAF voluntiers. The Beufighter dived vertically to the ground, pulling out at tree-tops - the dweebish fury augered...

I hope they got a manoever kill for that stunt.
I love the Sea Fury, it just has no place in AH unfortunately.
BTW, I think it was faster than Tempest. It shared some design features (it was made by Hawker afterall), but I'm sure it was faster.
-
Pretty sure its top speed was around 460, atleast that's what my books say. Don't have a specialized Tempest/sea Fury book though so could be wrong.
Thanks bozon :)

Cajun - Bristol Bulldog??? Are you nuts??? (I mean this in a friendly, pleasant fashion. Please do not be offended :D)
The only folk mental enough to fly these operationally during the WWII era were the Finns! (Again, mental is a semi-affectionate description - I hope Finland doesn't come looking for me! )
The RAF retired the last one in 1937, and I really think that they would be simply cannon fodder in the MA. Unless some Finns fly them. And then you could just BnZ them until they run out of gas. A single 37mm or 88mm would turn them into a flaming, fluttering collection of wire, metal fragments, and smoking fabric.

No worries palef I take it as a complement. :D
In the first combat in history of The Finnish Air Force Mr. Toivo Uuttu had to fight alone in a Bulldog against 3 soviet I-16s. He had to ditch under enemy fire but managed to down one of the I-16s in the process. :D

What about adding an Me163 Komet? I think it would be a fun counter to super hi buffs. But in order for them to not dominate the arena, they need to make the fuel very short, make sure they don't make it up every time (Historically I think it was 35% of them blew up on takeoff due to the highly volitile rocket fuel) and they should be difficult to land (on a ski)..
Also, what about the Ki-84...I do not understand how you can over look them?? Historically they were one of the best radial engined aircraft...After the war we did tests on them, they out performed the P-51D, P-47D, F4U, P-38, the list goes on...It just kind of weird that we don't have them inb the game...
I do think having a Sea Fury in the game would be a stretch as they weren't active in WW2, kind of like putting an F-16 in a Vietnam Sim lol....

:D
-
Meteor III would be a nice foil to the Me.262.
But I'd like to BigUCs list done first. :)

unless the fabric isnt stiff enough to explode the shell, an instead the shell just passes through leaving holes a few inches wide
-
Was PZL-11 a crappy plane or good?
-
when it 1st came out in 1934 it was probably one of the better fighters (better than the P-26, the USAAC's best fighter at the time), certainly it was no match for the I16, which was contemporary and was ~100 kph faster

Yeah that was the great thing about the fairey swordfish, and why they didnt loose a single one in attacking the bismark!
