Title: Night Time Has No Place In Ah

quite simply night time dosen't work unless icons are turned off or range shortened.  All it dose is drive some people away from the arena for a time..
Now dont get me wrong the night time idea is a good one..
But after 18 months playing it has never been refined.
Lets have it tweeked or lets get rid of it..

ok i can hear people saying NO i like night time..
OK you may like it but im sure you like day time better..

I for one would like to see it stay but with short icons darkened cockpits... serch lights and flares..:D

the only good thing about night is that it makes it easier to shot down noobs who haven't worked out how to turn up the brightness on their monitors yet :D

apart from that its not good for anything.

Searchlights and flares would eat up too many resources and slow the game down. I do like the idea though.  

Doing away with night completely would screw people all up...Seems a lot folks time their "internal clocks" to AH time...take our sun and moon away...well - you get the idea.....like going into casino at  7pm and coming out at 10am - and suprised to find that's it's daylight :)

Dropping night time wouldn't bother me a bit. I just log off if it is getting dark. Frankly with so little time to play I won't waste my time when it's night in AH.

night DOES have a place in ah.

What we have ISNT night, it's just "dark sky time".

Get rid of it, or implement a real night.

I think night is just fine, but with search lights, landinglights, nightfighters and realistic radar, it would be excelent :D

I just logged for nighttime, like usual.  That's cool, I
ll do some dishes I guess.  Like someone said, please try and make night more than dark sky.  Some of us play with windows in our rooms, glare makes night just silly as it is.

IIRC, there was a post somewhere regarding multiple light sources.  As I remember, AH's current graphics engine cannot deal with multiple light sources, and that is why there are no searchlights/flares/whatevers.

Curse all you cheaters that make night go away by turning up your monitor brightness!:D

errr doesnt the effect of not having shorter icon range etc etc... get offsetted so the effect is similar by all those people logging off


and a as for putting moniter brightness up it doesnt help i already fly with max brightness etc etc.. and it dont offset night effect

LOL I shouldn't talk. I have vertigo so bad that when AW offered 3D exclusively instead of the old 2D view the realism made me shake so bad I couldn't drink and fly at the same time so I had to give up flying. Even now before I fly AH I visit the doctor and tell him I'll be taking a flight and he'll give me some pills to relax me. I guess we all have our phobias...or our excuses:)

I like Night..  Only time  I can make most planes i fight auger..  My favorite  saves more ammo  for vulchs..  :D
