With voice more and more people are not using the check 6 key. I asked three different people in the training arena how the check 6 is used and got three different answers.
OK, I'm not as much as a newbi as I used to be, but I still don't know how to use the check 6 key, can someone point me to a write up on how the key is used. Please treat me like a 6 year old and make no assumptions , please explain each and every step to correctly use the "Check 6" function.
thanks

vort not sure what check 6 key is used for in MA
vort say
in hth check 6 is a way of 1 alerting people your on there 6 and goign to kill them thus making there death be more painfull it also mean can i attack you
-
that is understook, but how do you use the key?
You only told me what it means, I know that, how do you use the key?
-
Ickid... in the MA, the Check 6 key (default is ' - apostrophe) is used to alert friendlies that there is an enemy very close to them (not necessarily always on their 6). To send a Check 6, hit the apostrophe, or whatever key you have mapped, repeatedly until the box surrounds the GameId of the person you want to send it to, then release. The Check 6 will then be sent about half a second later. Don't be afraid of sending one if in any doubt if the person has seen the enemy - most of us would rather have a superfluous Check 6 than none at all.... :) Hope that answers your question.

Finally, someone that understood the question. thanks flossy and good flying.
thanks

My pleasure, Ickid.... must admit, I didn't fully understand vorticon's reply.... it was a simple question, with a simple answer... ;)

It is probaby also worth adding that when in the Training Arena the Check 6 function is used to ASK people if you can engage (shoot them) Although by sending them a check 6 does not automaticaly mean you can shoot them. You must wait for either
1) A check 6 back from the pilot you have check 6ed
2) A message in the text buffer saying "in" or something along those lines.
If you don't get anything like this then don't engage em :)
You may already know this but just pointing it out.
Safe Flying!
