Title: Salute to this Community
Post by: Cobra on February 17, 2001, 01:47:00 PM
From the Musketeers Escadrille, we Salute this community.

Over 75 pilots showed up today for Sniper's Tribute and it was a moving experience for our squad.

I speak for the Musketeers when I say how grateful we are to you for helping us pay a small tribute to our friend.

We also are very grateful to HTC for their help in our tribute and to the CM Corps who let us use the SEA for this event.

<S>

I'm glad everything went well.  I'm upset that I missed it.  I got caught up in work and the next thing I knew, it was already an hour past the event.  I don't know how I let that happen. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)

Pyro I feel your pain.  I was supposed to be the "missing man" plane in formation and my lame stupid peice o crap ISP decided to die on me today!!!!   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/mad.gif)

I really was the missing man, just not the way it was supposed to be   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/mad.gif)

I just don't understand why these things must happen at such important times.

Thank you to all who were there.  I am proud to be associated with such a fine online community.   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Hey Cobra,

I don't know how it came out on other's FEs, but I exited the parade lineup to lighten the load. The first passes were just dots and went sailing across the sky.

Once I exited I could at least see the planes do their fly-bys. Hopefully it helped.

Excellent work though and an honor to be there.

A Big Heartfelt <S!> in honor of Sn1p3r.

A <S!> and a smile to Cobra for a very well thought out tribute.

Lastly, a <S!> to those who were there, those who couldn't be there but were there in spirit, and to everyone who made it possible. That's what makes this such a good community.

Thks Eagler, by explaining to the Honor guard that their wife and children were being held until after the formations had been analysed worked wonderfully!  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Actually, we were about 5-10 seconds late on the 21 gun salute since the 32-plane visual limit simply showed faint dots that went past (Cobra's flight)..and after a couple of "was that them? "Did you see those dots?"...we went ahead and commenced the 21 gun salute.

Swoop,Apache,Fury,Mighty1, all performed this without any rehearsal, only orders via email of a picture and instructions. Jimbear Sundog and I had practice with Cobra the night before.  As I said as we were rolling down the runway..."Sniper would have been appreciated this and would have been proud"

I'm anxious to see hblairs film, since we didn't get to see but dots for fly by's.

Unfortunately Rip, thats about all I'm getting. It seems the server was past its limits as far as the # of planes/vehicles in such close proximity. So I am waiting on a video of sn1p3r taken at the con thats being mailed to me, as well as splicing in some gunfilm taken by discod winging with sn1p3r in 1.04. Doing this will help make this video more complete.

Sorry for the wait fellas, but we're gonna do this thing right.

The video will go out today hopefully   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
