Title: chute shooter medals
Post by: icemaw on October 10, 2002, 05:22:08 PM
Ok TOD isnt the MA and this is just my opinion but I think anyone who kills a chute in TOD or any event for that matter is a jerk of the first order and deserves a medal stating that.
Lets start a petition and have medals drawn up and sent out like in CAP. First chute medal of jerk 2nd chute add clusters 3rd chute clusters and bars. After say 5 chute kills you get the congressional order of master jerk.

Hmm dont know how to score one from the FDB's. After shooting down a squaddie is it right or wrong to shoot his chute. Ill have to think about that one.

 Any feedback would be helpfull.

Actually, I see chute shooting in the last TOD as a method of decreasing your opponent's score.  You bail to increase the score vs dying  when you're shot down.  If you see a chute and shoot it, that's one less person that bailed successfully which lowers the score ever so slightly.  However, they can add up if you shoot enough chutes.  ;)

See yet another reason kill nuff chutes and you could even win the war. That would qualify you for the congressional order of master jerk.  Time to start cleaning my gunsight make sure my aim is tru them chutes are hard to hit sometimes.

heres a thought, what is the big deal about shooting chutes. it is only a game and nothing is real. Speaking as a vet from real life . killing a pilot seems like a good thing to do since dead ones cant fly and kill no more. and in game they are used as spys sitting near bases and towns relaying info .  they are used as decoys so flak can shoot at them so goons come in.  since i do that my self, and i get shot down. The ones not to shoot , at 30,000 ft you kill bombers and the guy opens shoot. lol they are the ones stuck up for a long time or have to reboot to get out of shoot. those you don't shoot. So after watching this talk for almost a year. IS chute shooting really that important. Don't mean to seem sarcastic or anything, just cant see why it should matter..

Aim for the little guy at the bottom, not the chute itself.

In the MA I kill chutes all the time. Dont see any problem with it. But in a event I dont think its an honorable thing to do. I feel the squads and pilots that participate in TOD and other events are a cut above the rest and the normal MA dweebery should be left for the MA. Of coarse this is just my opinion and I have said it before and will say it again.
                                I could be wrong.:p

Seeing as many of the squads that take part in the TOD are the same as the ones that fly in the MA, I would say that you are wrong.

I think you're right.  I've talked to my squadmates and they've agreed, we will desist within the TOD events.

Please feel free to bail when we are around, if anything happens I assure you it will be by accident.

If there's any unkilled chutes in my vicinity, then i really messed up. my apologies if any leak past... I really try to avoid lettin the score dweeb maggots get any self-congratulatory satisfaction outta gettin shot down. Call it a personal mission of denial on my part.

"oh toejam, i'm hit.. this is goofmaw, I'm bailing..."

goofmaw hits the silk at 8k... but he figures he'll wait till the last second before pullin the ripcord..

"fatty, we got a freefall chutist commin down thu 6k.. 2 beers for the bagger"

5 FDB's start skeet shootin.. one MAW goes POOF just as the silk blooms at 300ft.

"gawdammit; you gay FDB retards, thanks alot for killin my chute..."

"yer welcome, MAW.."

Actually we should get extra points for baggin 'em on the freefall. We should also get points for kill stealing and friendly fire snuffs. I think I killed a friendly chute once in TOD. That ought be worth double points. Of course if a chute snuff elicits a prime time whine or an indignant self-rightious BBS tirade, double points and a Big Game Safari Helmet w/oak leaf clusters is obligatory.
