I think it would be a great addition to the planeset, and especially because of the midway scenario so half the japanese force won't have to fly TBM's against F4F's! :)

The big problem I see with the kate being added is us being stuck with it. Historicaly HTC adds aircraft for Japan at what could genioursly be described as a "slow" rate. ow I know that does not mean that will continue to be so, what with the popularity of PAC set up in the CT and for Events I fully expect to see more of these planes being added. Howeaver just how many Naval torpedo planes can we expect HTC to deleaver? of the Three designed for CV opps the Kate, Jill, and Grace the latter would clearly be the most usefull in the MA and would add collor to all events and set up's, for years now we have had to sub late war allied types for Axis planes(even Russian plane's) why must we be forced to suffer throught with an early war torp bomber when we could have a great machine like the Grace.
I would much prefer the Jill if we cant get the Grace, at least she is mid war and with better preformance.
The Jill and the Kate both have very week guns, and are both way outpreformed by the Grace.

Kate wouldnt be that "useless" in MA, I play in CT 95% of the time, but even when I play in MA I can usuelly get at least 3-5 kills in a val or someother "stinky" early war plane :)
And besides I was assigned Kate in midway, & it just want feel right shootin down allied AC in allied AC lol!

Get the Japanese equivilent of the TBM, the B6N2.
If the Japanese get the B5N, then give the Devastator to the US.
Stop making the Japanese fight with inferior equippment relative to what they really were dealing with.
No more giving the USN a 1943 SBD and the Japanese a 1937 Val for the Midway setup. Its stilting enough as it is.

Whats all this stuff about japanese getting "inferior planes" ?
I prefer val over SBD,a6m2 over f4f, and kate would hold up pretty good i think, not to mention it would be the only single engine plane other than the TBM to carry a torp..
I find it pretty easy to shoot down that 1943 SBD in a 1937 Val!
I've even shot down spits,f4fs,a few f6fs,fm2s,p40s some other planes in the val!
Here are my kill stats with val in CT (not all that impressive but hey for the last 5-6 weeks its been all 1943+!!!!!!)

Of course B7A2 is deadly attacker for MA.
But it wound't fit for realistic events.

Yeah, that's why I prefer the B6N2. Its not as neat or as powerful, but it is much more realistic.

I actually like the Grace--not so much as an events plane, but as a plane that might see a reasonable amount of use in the MA, although its bombload is still inferior to the likes of the USN fighters.
But just liking an airplane isn't enough to see it get added....is there enough information available to do the job? Cockpit view pics? Speed/climb curves for all altitudes? Stall speeds/handling properties? The Grace was so rare that kind of quality info might not be available.
A B6N would be a comparible balance to the TBM for CT and events purposes so it would be IMO a better choice than a Kate if it comes down to being a choice between the two.

I would be suprised if their were not enough info for the Grace. All the late war Japaneses planes got a good going over, and at least one( Grace) was sent to the US, I do beleave part of one is at the Pauel E Garber Facility, or was, I am Prety shure a Jill is their as well ( well at least one of them has been a while since I was their). AT any rate I do beleave enough data was taken both Visual and test to do a model of it ( the Grace), certainly the JIll.
The Jill would certainly fit for Historical events better than the Grace, but to tell you the truth I have been so hoared out making do with what I have(plane set wise) for "Historical" events as a CT staffer that puting a grace in for a Jill wouldent even make me Blush now:)
I do wish we could see some of the late war Japanese Wounder weapons, the Zenith of their endevours, planes like the Grace, the Ki 102, the Ki 84, and other planes unique to Japan like the Emily superlative examples of their types, much the same as we have seen for Germany and England and of course the US.

kate was a good plane in airwarrior 3,,but it is slow and more importaint planes should be shoved in there,,anothere good plane was the oscar:)

As you can see from ther list bellow Their are Both a Grace and A Jill in the US, although I do beleave they are both unrestored, I took the tour of this facility about 2 years ago and I remember standing in front of both of them, they had no wings atached just the fuslage on blocks, it was still very impresive.
