how powerful is the supply? if it is too small it still can't handle the requirements even if it is new. Hmm, i am not an amd guy, but do you have the latest 4 in 1 drivers (assuming you have a via chipset)? I have read that the via drivers need to be updated when you reformat.

PS is 300W.
I downloaded some drivers, but prolly not enough.
Thanks,

OK, I actually think I'm back where I started before I tried to "fix" my system.
AH will run, but 4 out of 5 times that I try to start it, I get an instant CTD. I managed to play offline a couple of times, one CTD after about 10 minutes, and I exited after 5 minutes the second time on.
I think my problem is the K7AMA MoBo, or maybe the Ram.

Do you know what chipset is on your motherboard? Is it a VIA chipset? If it is, you definitely need the latest VIA 4-1 drivers as they fix a lot of compatibility issues with both SB Live soundcards and Geforce cards, GF3 and GF4 in particular.
Are you also tweaking your video card such as over clocking it? If it's over-clocked too high, it can over heat and cause crashes to desktop. Also, what resolution are you running the game in, 16 or 32 bit?

First of all, get rid of that WinME.
If you can't do that at least download W32.bugbear@mm remover tool from http://www.symantec.com - bugbear causes network interruptions and ctd's on anything that connects to the net.
If I were you, I'd cleanly format c: and install W2k Pro or XP pro corporate (to avoid activation bs)
Borrow a stick of RAM from a friend or get one more from a shop theyre cheap. REMOVE your old ram and try it with the borrowed / new stick. If it doesn't solve the prob and you bought it at least you now have more ram.. never hurts :)
If you have a soundblaster, remove it and use onboard audio if you have it. Creative hardware has proved to be incompatible with via based chipsets in my experience. I chose to give my SB live away and never regreted it.

Thanks Hussein,
AH CTDs offline just as bad as on, so I don't think that's it.
Win XP doesn't support CH Pro programable inputs. So I can't go there.
The Ram swap sounds like a good idea, but I'm wondering if my K7AMA board is too crappy to work with in the first place.

I don't know what the chipset is, I saw it on a site, but can't find it...
No I'm not tweeking it.
32 bit, I think.

Don't install via 4 in 1's , You have an ALI chipset.
Use win98se, and when you format hd use
Format C:/U
Definately try another stick of ram (quality stuff) like crucial.
Try resetting cmos with the jumper before you format
If it still fails eskimo, you can pm me and we can hookup on landline or something and get you thru this harrowing experience of yours
:D The option is yours and the offer is there
Your a Rook right? :p j/k
Would be glad to help, hate to see the AH Dt's killin ya

Was reading up on your motherboard, some say that its top cpu speed is 1.3 MHz and I see you listed a 1.4 mhz, maybe you should check that again, just a thought bud !
