Hammy, How long did it take you to build that, and what tools did you end up needing? I've been considering doing one of my own, anyone else whos built one have any comments about it?

Those things always look cool in my book... but.... I'm half afraid to do one becuase of how far back you end up sitting from your monitor. I have a 19" screen sitting on a rolltop desk... I think my eye's are usually no more than a foot away from the screen lol (ya I'm near sighted too). Any of you cockpit flyer's care to comment on this being a problem?

I'm doing the measuring for my cockpit now, and the monitor will be about two cubits from my nose.
I sat in Saber's Flying Furnature and Sac1's cockpit at the con, and the nose-monitor distance was the first thing I noticed in both cases.
From looking at Saber's, though, it appears the seat to screen distance would be fairly easily changed by modifying the plans slightly. Shouldn't be a big deal.
YMMV. HTH. HAND.

Very good job!

You can adjust the distance from your monitor by cutting down the seating area, the cockpit is in two pieces and can be modified easily. See attached image for piece to shorten

cubits ???????
