Reformat your gaming rig...
and are installing w2k or XP


disable ACPI or APCI whatever it is, in your BIOS, BEFORE INSTALLING OS.
 
It will possibly save you headaches with shared IRQ's in the long run.

Yeah, I noticed on my winxp machine you cant disable ACPI (power management) in BIOS. The OS won't boot. I havn't got any problems at the moment, but thats a good tip. Doing it before you install will probably work.

It works great for me.
It gives much more flexibility when it comes to irq assignments
