There is apparently a spy problem going on again, with someone giving info about NOE surprise attacks to the victim country. How about changing the radar back so that you don't show on friendly dot radar if you're under 500ft AGL? The sector markers don't show when yer under 500ft AGL, but a buncha green dots streaming across the ocean with no sector markers in the sector is a goldmine for the spies. Removing friendly dots for aircraft under 500ft would eliminate this as long as the strike group used good operational security.
And how about bases not flashing until 3 or maybe 5 miles for aircraft that are under radar coverage? The flashing at the 12mile point kinda defeats the purpose of flying under radar. Instead of seeing your dot at the 12mile mark they only see the base flashing now, and just have to look around all compass points around the base instead of having a direct vector to the incoming strike.

Good point, I'll second that.

Sounds good Cave !!

Agreed, there should be no dots under 500 feet.

Good point!

Plus:
- Eliminate private channels between countries.
- Introduce a special room (without map!) as the only possibility for communication between countries.
This would at least rise the outlay for spies.

I agree 100%

No sense in going on a full blown spy hunt, they're a fact of life, both real world and AH MA. But with no friendly dots under 500ft, and if a squad maintains tight operational security (like they should) the spy's job becomes much harder. Eliminating the private channels between countries just keeps friends from talkin in private.

This game has 2 aspects for me
1. Strategy/tactic
2. Action
Playing a game is most fun if the basic parameters are realistic. This contains flight model as well as communication. For me WW2OL is the model considering communication between sides.
Don't get me wrong. I can live with it and I doubt the actual setting could be changed without massive protests. Your point about radar dots is for sure the most important one.
Yet to have in air radio communication with a plane or base on the "other" side is quite astonishing. :D

Don't take information away from your team.
Where everyone is located is valuable information.
So what if there are spies. It only means you may have to fight someone before you pork their base.

THere is no problem fighting someone before attacking their base. THe problem is when your strike group gets intercepted by 5+ bandits before you even get close enough to make their base start flashing.
It wasn't coincedence that these bandits were coming up from this field either. It's the one in the very South West corner of Mindano.
