Title: MathMan is a God!
Post by: muckmaw on October 14, 2002, 10:54:10 AM
Math-

Just  note to say thanks for putting up that spectacular websight on the F6F.

Using your tactics, with the limited time I can spend in a fighter, I've moved my kill ratio in the F6F to 8 to 1 this tour.

I've always loved this plane, and if you ever get out to Long Island, let me know. I'll get you up close and personal to the F6F we have at the museum I work at.

You have to love the "Grumman Iron-Works".

Thanks again, and no, I'm not giving out the URL. I don't need the competition.:D

Damn, I was all ready for a good flame-fest.

Thanks for the kind words.  Glad it is helping you, it sure isn't helping me this tour. :)

MATH!!

That "Super Fancy Jabo Graph made with Paint" is some of the best work I've ever seen!  Picasso would be jealous! :D

Great site.

Hey Muck, are you doing volunteer work out at the Cradle of Aviation?

If so, say hi to Tom, Josh and Rebecca for me. I still owe Tom a lunch.

My regards,

Widewing

Holy toejam, Wilde!

I did'nt think anyone knew about that place yet.

Yes, I am volunteering there. I work as a costumed interpreter, which basically means, one day out of the week, I get to be what I wanted to be since I was a kid....a Fighter pilot.

It may sound silly, but walking around the exhibits in a flight suit, G-suit, rescue Harness, Helmet, and O2 mask is a mix between being a super-hero, and Santa Claus.

The kids come up and want to shake your hand, and take a picture with you, the girls giggle and flirt when you walk by.

I was suppsed to work 9:30 to 1:30 this weekend, but I was having so much fun, I did'nt leave until 5pm.

And on top of all this, I have unlimited access to the entire grounds, so I can cruise into the restoration hangar, and basically climb into the A-10 or the F-14 (though I don't have the balls to do it.)

Wilde, did you used to work at the cradle or something? I just saw Josh on wednesday...what a packrat. He's a nice guy though. He hooked me up with the G-suit and the Helmet.

I'll pass along your regards when I see them....but will they know who "Wildewing" is?

You should re-evaluate your choices for primary deity.

GOD?  naaa he is to ugly to be a god but he is the best F6F pilot I have had the misfortune to meet up with.  I just wonder how many hundreds of times he has shot me down anyway.

Salute you skinny F__t, lol

Keep posting and somehow this thread will get twisted around to how there are too many N1K's and LA7's in the arena....

Sorry, due to correct spelling, grammar and punctuation we have to disqualify this post from competition.  Please try again keeping the following quidelines in mind:
1) There is a rEasOn you have tWo shiFT keys.  Use THeM!
2) If, a comma, is, good, for, William Shatner,,,,it should be good, for you, too.
3) For, four and fore all take more of your valuable work time to type than '4'
4) Gud speling maks it boaring 4 the reeder so u shud tri not 2 yoos it.

Several years ago I got together with Tom Gwynne to provide the Museum with written material for their website. I’ve written a history of the P-47 and have been working on a similar piece for Grumman. You can find them on their website, or on mine (I have posted more illustrations and photos than they did). One of the benefits has been unlimited access to their library and photo archives. All I have to do is give Rebecca some notice in advance so that they can have a PC and scanner available.

I was there when they first began building the F3F replica. Seeing it on the display floor recently really impressed me with their ability to build it from scratch. I understand that they are working on a Brewster Buffalo, with the major components to be molded from fiberglass!

I live about an hour east of Garden City, in Terryville, just south of Port Jefferson.

No, they won’t know who Widewing is, but they will know who Corey Jordan is. :D

I visit the Museum every couple of months or so, and I'll keep an eye out for you the next time I’m there.

My best,

Widewing

Sounds good, Wide. I'm always there on Sunday from 9:30 on. I'm the clown in the Jet Age with the Air Force flight suit on.

God is love.
Love is Blind.
Ray Charles is Blind.
Therefore, God plays the piano.
