i was bad... didn't pay a couple tickets...
the state sent me a POSTCARD to tell me there were warrents out for my arrest.. a bright PINK postcard...
i found this funny.. would've expected an envelope for privacy at least...
:D

privacy is so passe.

You tard, take care of it quickly. If you get pulled over before you do, you get to be pictured and printed and pay crazy amounts of money to get your car out of storage at the towing company. Then you'll probably have to quit AH for lack of money and we'll never see you again . . .
on second thought, forget I said anything. It's probably no big deal. :p

I read a story a few years back that was funny as hell. I'm fairly sure it was an urban legend, but what the hell it was still funny.
so this guy gets a trafic ticket mailed to his house. it's from one of those photo radar things and inclosed is a pic of his car, with the speed he was travaling printed on it. the bail on the ticket was $40.
so the guy signs the ticket and sends it back with a picture of 2 $20's.
a couple of weeks later he gets a pic of a pair of handcuffs in the mail.
so he sends off the real payment right away.
like I said probably bs, but I laughed anyway.

Hey Moloch,
Be careful if you get called up for jury duty. If you don't take care of the tickets they ask you to step back to a booth when you show up at the courthouse and then nail ya.

My roommate freshman year got a ticket in PA. Sending in the check he wrote "diddly This" on the memo, and was charged with contempt of court.

Chances are your license may be suspended. In cases where traffic tickets are not considered "criminal" (in other words you don't go to jail for not signing it) it is usual to automatically suspend the license of the person for not paying or taking care of a ticket. There is reciprocity in other states for suspension. You can't get a license in another state until the ticket is taken care of and the state that suspended your license reinstates it. Don't blow this off, it can come up and bite you pretty hard.

I'm taking care of it monday.....
was just amused by the pink postcard :)
-
take care of it by phone, with a credit card.
DON'T show up in person with a checkbook.

What Hang said.
When there's possible warrants over these things (even petty traffic stuff), *never* go there in person... Or if you do, bring a toothbrush.

i write "choke on it" in the memo of all my tax checks.
so far as i know they never have.
i think that makes the cashing of the check a breach of contract

I worked with a guy in the early 80's who wrote "payed under protest" on his 1040's. last I heard he was charged with defacing gov't property or something simular. never heard if they got a conviction though.

I had that happened to me once, for not paying a violation off in time. My father was a CHP and decided to look me up in the computer and subsequently sh*t a brick. Het took me down to the jail (riding in the back seat of course) and gave me the scare of my life. Paid it all off that day. He was so pissed, I'll never forget that scary "cop look" face he gave me. I've had a clean slate since :D
