Not a great picture I took, but see if you can identify the following ammo.
Clues:
1- Made in U.S.A.
2- Is a .38 is more powerful than a .357?
4- Not used in AH.
8- Not an aircraft round. Used to gruesome effect in Saving Private Ryan.
10 and 11 - Used in AH, but not on a plane...yet.
-
I managed to ID one piece of Ammo...
...they are called bricks (the ones stacked in the background).
Used mainly in Riots I believe...
:D

well #1 is 50cal
I figure either 10 or 11 is 37mm from a P-39 :)
as for the others? no clue

Very good Pongo, you just missed #5 which Crabofix is correct on.
Bonus Question: On what production aircraft in squadron service was #4 used?
-
1: 7.62 = US .308
2: Agree with pongo, MG-131/13
3: .50 cal MG
4: go along with pongo & crabofix
5-8 = 20mm guessing that

hard one. But as it was only productioned during 1934-1936 it must have been some of the Squadrons involved in the Spanish
civil war. Legion Condor?
Aircraft bf 109 c or d
Crabofix.
Just boiled some crabs, out of rooks and bishops...
-
I think the BV 138 had them to( forward turet).
-
The F-2 had the 15mm but the other F's prior to the F-4 used the 20mm MG/FF.
-

I seem to recall Galland's 109 was customized with 15mms. But I'm confused if it was a 109E with 2xMG-FF + 1xMG151/15, or if it was a 109F-1 with 3xMG151/15... or was it a F2 with 2x20mm + 1xMG151/15??
:D
-
From This (http://www.messerschmitt-bf109.de) site:
F-0 MG/FFM with 2xMG17
F-1 MG/FFM with 2xMG17
F-2 MG151/15 + 2xMG17
F-3 MG151/15 + 2xMG17
btw chitload of good pics, check it out.

show em the rocket pyro :)
-
Based on the H O ability of the spit (other than the spit 14) I would guess that that red one is a hispano.

2 in the cowl of the Bf109k6
-
Oh, oh , I know I know!
Hispano!
EDIT: And the 15mm Mg151 was used in the nose of the Bf109F2 and Bf109F3. I think the F1 had an MG-FF, but it might have had the 151/15. The F4 had the Mg151/20.
-
Staga, it could be on the F3. I go with Prien and Rodeike who seem to have done the most thorough and original research on the subject. They cite their source for the 20mm MG/FF being on the F-3, but it could be incorrect. There is also uncertainty whether any F-3's were actually built.
-
It is cool to be able to put your "PAW" on stuff like this, bullits, guns, ect from time to time realy gives pause. And seaing them all lined up like that realy gives prespective.
-
The Mg151/15 was also used in the Cowling of the Do335 single seat day fighter. That plane also had a hub mounted Mk103 :)

Squadron says they were 2 F2s
Both with thier mg151/15s and one with the 7.92s replaced with mg131/13s in the cowl the other with mgffs in the wings like an Emil
