Cant seem to get it to play. I know Ive installed the drivers b4, but I went ahead and D/L them again, still says invalid file type. Ive tried my default media viewer and the winbloze media player.
Anything obvious I may be missing?

Did you reboot the machine after installing the Codec?
Only thing I can think that might be the problem.

I've had this problem since day one. If you come up with a solution please post it.

The only system I've seen persistently give trouble with DivX is WinME. If you're using Win95/98, the install/"Run me First" (to register the DLLs)/reboot works every time. I can't speak for Win2000... but I suspect that'd be no trouble, since DivX was fine with NT. DivX was designed for Win95/NT, and so alternative OS (like the media-integrated WinME) will give trouble.
Also, there are so many DivX renditions available at the moment, I'm not sure what effect installing other renditions would have. Here's a link that'll let you find a few different ones: my suggestion is to take the tried and true DivX;-)3.11 Alpha build. The 3.2.2 seems to be pretty good (according to MBs), I haven't messed with it much as of yet.
Basic DivX;-), try 3.11 Alpha FIRST, and follow the instructions on the page:

Co-incidentally, 3ivX is supposedly offering QT4 for Windows compatibility... I may well switch to that sucker in the near future, depending on how tests go.

Jay, SunDog caught me on ICQ and mentioned that he had your animation up and running. Since, I knew his codec was functional I forwarded a conversion utility and he graciously made me an audio free copy. I could view the animation then, but...
I did like the readme with the zip instructed. I extracted to an empty folder, right clicked the .inf file and installed it. You shouldn't have to reboot, but I did when it didn't work. Still doesn't. What "Run me First" are you referring to?

5'll get you 10, I can point out the problem with two simple questions:
(1) Which Codec did you downoad? Was it the 3.11 or the 3.2.2?
(2) When you installed the download, did it place a program group for DivX;-) on your start menu?
My guess answers are 3.2 and No, which case try downloading the 3.11 from the link above, and following the instructions for that install on the page.
