Jefco is a friend of mine that is trapped in Combat Flight Simulator I. Every day I have to hear how good he is at box sims. I'm trying to get him to fly AH, so he can see that he has along way to go. Now with this troll, I have convinced myself that he does truely fit in good with all of you. You losers.

Where's xela gone? He doesn't play AH anymore? Anyway he was way overmodelled what comes to his flying skills (btw scrmbl I'm quite sure xela tangled with drex and you got maneuver kill :D j/k).

hehe - that screenshot is at least three years old, in the days when I flew for stiglr's JG5 squad - my first ever WB squad. Since that, I flew for ramjet's 249 Tangmere wing, then the IAF Borg which disbanded, and then the Royal Orange Flames of the Netherlands. I had heard about =drex= and that's why I took that screen shot for my trophy cupboard.
I don't know what happened to -xela-, whose real name was Alex (reverse of xela) and who lived in Italy. So many WBers disappeared, and I have run into about a dozen of them right here in AH.

Xela flew in AH beta and early tours. He disapeared after, only to briefly show up some time later.
Last thing I know he was beta testing the WW2OL.

Xela is still playing WWIIOL, at least once and a while.While playing AH he had some of the best 109 stats around.
Cant remember I ever fought Drex in WB (Im sure id have my bellybutton handeled).Tangeled with Xela several times though - great pilot.

I flew as a wingmen of pjk in JG-3 (a true master of 109's, like -ik-). Hehe those were good times, althought very expensive one's :eek: !!

He flew 190's too, if I recall it right. Heheh, I recall xela complaining about kill messages, they shouldn't contain killer's name because he had all MA nme's after him because of those "kill 9 by xela..." messages, everyone wanted to beat (or atleast to try..)him. :)

Vector, you forgot "eman". My Warbirds squad used to hold "kill eman" theme nights. Don't think we ever did get him, though. Closest I came was killing his engine one day, but he made it back to base safely.
And what about "scop"? I always wondered what happened to him. Words to live by: "Scop is odd" :)
And then my personal favorite Warbirds celebrity, "dood". Funny guy, that dood was.

I remember –eman-. I got on his wrong side once when I was a newbie, for firing over his shoulder (we were both flying purple). I got the kill, but he kept banging on at me. In the end I said ”oh, well f*** you then”, and he didn’t like that, and accused me of being a 14 year old cyber punk – LOL! (I was 43 at the time) I was winding him up – giving him 12-calls, that sort of thing. So he invited me for a duel. We went to the duelling arena. I knew he’d get me, but I just wanted to find out more about the guy. After he’d killed me twice, I asked him if he felt better now. He didn’t say, but in the conversation that followed he explained why it was a bad thing to fire over someone’s shoulder. We got talking about other things, and it turned out that although –eman- lives in New Hampshire, he was born not far from where I was born in England. Eman is from Nottingham (Robin Hood’s home) and I was born in Leicester, 26 miles away. And we ended up becoming mates, sort of ;) I once described eman as being to Warbirds what John Macenroe was to tennis – a great player, and a good guy really – but a bit temperamental sometimes – so focussed on winning.
I got to know eman’s wingman very well, and that’s a guy from Colorado with the game ID –gigg- He became a brotherly figure! He’s a few years older than me, and I met him at the North Carolina WB Con2000. One time he shot my 190A8 out from under me at a time when I was typing to him. I was annoyed about that, and gigg felt bad, so later on when I had switched to an F6F (my favourite mount in WB at that time) and was about to land about 6 kills, gigg was vulching my field. When I explained that he owed me one from the earlier incident, he very politely let me land :D
Oh what memories; the glory days of WB before the WW2 Arena which, incidentally, played no small part in my decision to leave.
But I digress, and must now return you to the reality of this thread –

Hmm, scop rings a bell, wasn't he a spit pilot or am I totally lost here? It's soo long time ago and I was on the darkside, as a luftwaffler..
There was one guy who killed me many times and I never knew what hit me, he was bellxl or something, some sneak attacker (no, my SA was excellent, umhh...)

Scop flew the f6f my old 2vs2 partner. Bellxl is actually a Blue Knight and has flown AH a few times under a different ID.

I knew bellx1 quite well. He changed his ID to --vamp. Whenever I saw him, I'd say Hi Bellx1, and he would say Hi Tafkas! -tafkas was an experimental account I had in the dark days of WB 2.6. (The Airman Formerly Known As Scrmbl) And --vamp remembered my plight of those dark days (ie 266MHz processor - below the 300MHz line required under the new "realistic" gunnery.
Bellx1/--vamp now lives in Japan, but was here in Europe for a while. Hw would not say precisely where, so I assumed he had some sort of secret governmental posting...

I killed Eman a bunch. He was my favorite target next to Drex and Scop. He was more satifying to kill as he would bemoan it so much it was funny :) Something always getting his eye or I was warping or his nut popped when he swung his rudder hard and he lost conciousness and therefore died a most tragic death BLAA BLAA BLAA. Drex on the other hand always died well....no matter what he does in his off time....

Well, Uncle Superdave has appeared! I didn’t realise this board could be accessed from the Isle of Nug!
--sd--, you MUST get over here to try this out. I’ve been playing almost four weeks, and I’m STILL figuring out all the strategic elements, different planes and vehicles etc. There’s so much more to it than there was to WB, and best of all, it’s all explained in the Help App. :)
Gentlemen, in case you didn’t know it, --sd-- was the guy who rescued me from quitting WB the first time when WB2.6 came out. I wrote a quit post, but came back – just like drex was saying earlier. But this time, I have quit and not left a quit post. I think WB has enough problems right now, without people like me doing that.

You guys remember -garn- he was a good one too....haven't seen him around in years.....lost touch with -vigl- too.
Actually, I remember the first few times I played WB and noticed all these hot sticks vultching around some red field at 3:00am (actually calling turns on the suckers that kept replaining LOL) all their call signs started with a "V" -vics-, -vigl-, -vila-, va31. I thought hmmmm, maybe there's something to it :)

As far as his abilities flying AH, as in WB, he's easy to kill, just get 6 other planes to distract him and he's dead meat. ;)
I do have to admit, Drex does have one big flaw, he's a BK. Now, being the nice guy I am I am willing to overlook it, I figure Hooligan probably pays him to be in the squad. Drex really should learn to keep better company. :D

drex allmost didn't make the BK's cut.. The rule was too strict. the BK rule is that to be a BK you have to be less abrasive than me. He was gonna be a MOL but their leader is wound too tight.

I think Drex USED to be a good guy at one point. Then he moved and stopped flying in the main arena so I never really saw him. The only time since was when he was embarrassing himself in Big Week.
