I cant remember the film I saw when I first heard the term.....but yeah I know what it means. Someone once told me it was first used by a skydiver.
EDIT: Now I remember, it was Tango & Cash.

I learned it from a comp sci professor. Whenever you learn a new language the first function you write you invariably name foo() or foobar() which is the PC version of fubar.
-
LOL Rip...yes me being in the Rattlers meant TMI usually from the Ripster! :D LOL Rip...email me sometime...gotta couple questions.
-
Didn't FUBAR actually start with troops during WW2?
-
Another "do" doesn't everyone?

BOHICA
NAVY (Never Again Volunteer Yourself)
TMI (Too much Information)

Don't forget the story of the foo bird, which is in some ways responsible for that variable.

And let us not forget FIDO.

Yep, and also IHTFP.

FUBAR and SNAFU is easy. It's the others I have no clue.
Now here's one I don't think anyone knows.
AMF (AS seen in "Flight of the Intruder". Willem Dafoe: Alpha Mike Foxtrot)
Then there is the Derivative, AMF-YOYO. Usually reserved for goon pilots said to them by their fighter escorts.
I'd be impresed if the bulk of the community knows these.
-
:D
-
SNAFU, FUBAR, BOHICA, and especially IHTFP.....all cadet classics :D
My favorite is still CYA though

snafu and fubar are Air Force slang, but during the war they become so overused by civilians that Air Force personell stopped using them altogether.
SNAFU=Situation Normal, All Fuc|FUBAR=Fuc|

Sorry, I had to say the bad words :)

Expression I heard the most in the service was "Hurry up and wait"
It was so true.
