Can we make it so you can use them in the MA, but it would only show up on your FE (so nobody has to download anything)? People would still be able to enjoy their skins, - the downloads.

HTC doesn't want to do this because some people would use gamey skins (like pink easy-to-see airplanes).

As demonstrated in AW, the number of people who would do this is rather small, but it did happen.

I'm just saying for the plane you are flying in, not enemy/friendly planes, although, i do see your point

I see what you're saying Hienkel.

THAT would be quite nice; unfortunately as Wlfgng pointed out AH can't currently do that (reskinning your 109F would re-skin ALL 109F's).   Perhaps such an ability may be added in the future  :)

People who will paint their plane bright pink will probably not keep it this way for long and/or will probably quit AH in hte following month from lack of interest in WW2.

Why would a easy plane to see be bad for anyone else?

Would have my 190 black. And would have my field protector spit bright pink with little angels on it, maybe a fluffy cloud. Would allso advertice for pink silk underwear on it.

As an ego thing, what would be practical would be that you could have custom skins for your plane, so if you wanted to fly a hot-pink P-51 you could, but it would only be on your FE. Allowing people to fly their own custom paint jobs on their FE wouldn't affect the game, and it would allow for some interesting screenshot opportunities.

Another thing that would be interesting is to allow custom skins in the standalone movie player, so you could assign a skin to a particular aircraft. This would be useful for things like producing instructional films, where you could make high-visibility skins so the people playing the films can see clearly what all the planes are doing.
