All my fields are on flat ground.
All HQ's are on flat ground.
no errors reported by object report but when I'm in the game, every field and country have the hangars appearing underground when you go to arm your aircraft.
Otherwise all looks fine. ?

1 ) Does it appear to be 1 hanger appearing underground when you are at every field, or several?
2) Check to see if the "Set to Terrain Altitude" is checked for your hangers ( well unless you need to place objects off the ground this box should be checked for all shapes ). Usually you only run into problems when you add seperate shapes, you got to watch out for the properties ( Object Properties box information ) that you give the items. I haven't checked all the "Shape Groups" but usually they are 99.99% bug free ;)
3) Only hangers? how about any other shapes? because I did notice that the Object Report for checking flat land is not 100% accurate!!!
4 ) Did you place your fields in numerical order?
5 ) Did you rotated any of the fields using the "Group Rotate"
6 ) I know you said the fields are placed on flat land,
6A ) but is the land elevated?
6B ) If so, did you change the skin of the water tile ( terr0000 ) to make it look like land?
6C ) If so, did you check the "Water Not 0"
Can't think of anything more at the moment!
P.S How many fields in total are we talking about? There is a quicker way to see what items may not have there "Set to Terrain Altitude" box checked instead of selecting each one at a time!

here's what I can remember.
did rotate some fields
placed all on flat land
did NOT place them all in numerical order.. I.E. I deleted field 1 and placed it later.
All hangars appear the same regardless of field /country.
can see half of the plane sticking up out of a hill.. can't tell where that hangar is though and it seems that no matter what field I'm at when one goes to the hangar it seems like the same one.. weird.
I did replace a few hangars as well so I'll check to make sure they're set to 'terrain alt'.. thought they all were but haven't double-checked.
haven't changed the skins to other than default purposes (same names-uses but different look.. I.E. 0000 is still water, 0001 grass, etc)
did check water not 0 and it's ok.

what exactly do you mean by hangers?
do you mean FHs, BHs, and VHs?
or
the one where you select your plane, fuel + ammo load, etc?

take off is ok.. visually the fields look ok, etc..
just when one goes to the hangar to setup their AC

ooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhh :) I thought you meant when you where on the runway or field and when to rearm pads.
Open your .oba file with notepad.
Find all lines for your 1st Field that begins with F01HGR##, ............................. .....
If you have them, copy them and paste them here.
If you don't have any, then something is wrong.
These are the different views from the setup hangers
HGR00= Fighter view
HGR01= Bomber view
HGR02= Vehicle view
HGR03= PT Boat view
HGR04= Gun ship or field
You only need 1 ( min. requirements )

theres a problem with some of the default feilds. you need to use the ones with s in the extention

Awesome! Thanks for all the needed info.
It actually just came down to having NOT used fields with S after their names. Once I replaced one or more with a different field type the problem was solved.
