unbelieveable...

Wow. I bet it looks even better in game. Screenies always loose a bit of 'life' I find.

GF3/ GF4 minimum to get the above water reflections.. I assume they'd work on an ATI 9700 Pro (don't see why not)

$900 for my new system (minus the video card, monitor) High end PC's are very cheap in these economic hardship times. And you could build it yourself for about 1/2 that price.

THis is like an RTS right? Not a flight sim?
-
No, this is the flight sim... due out soon (by January).. covers Finland and Hungary and integrates with Il2.

it's a real screenie from the game.
IL2 is beautiful.
fyi this new update (shown) requires GF3 or higher as far as I can tell.

Christ, rip. And to think, there are people that claim that flight sim addiction is a victimless crime.

The water looks sharp, but it still looks a bit "too" sharp and clean for my tastes. It just looks.... artificial. I don't find it any more appealing really than the AH water or some of the old Kraits textures for AW. I guess I'll have to wait a few more years for another generation or two of hardware advancement.
[I have seen water that clean before, but it was at 6:00 am on a Tenessee lake in a TVA flooded valley -- or in the tub :)]

I would say that IL2 does look better in game then in screen shots. If that is the case with FB...wow.

most of 'our' lakes are that clear.. rivers even more so.
as for in-game v.s. screen shots.. ingame usually blows away the screenies.. can't wait for FB

All that and 32 player coops.
If Oleg can pull that off, it is time for people to start looking over their shoulder.

I had the original - the graphics were badass, the planes handled great, it was a terrific game... and over the course of a year I probably played it a whopping total of 10 hours. Playing online was too much trouble compared to AH, and overall, AH is a much better GAME. Sad, really, because it was beautiful... I traded it a week ago.

Looks great.
SWulfe... I don't remember seeing clouds like that in Il-2. Are they there now and can you fly through them?
AKDejaVu

Yeah they were in Il2, they re-worked 'em though.. more distance and depth to them I think.

OOOOooooh! Aaaaaaahhhhhhh! Wow awesome graphics. How is IL2? Never have seen it or played it in person. Might just go get a copy.
-
IL2 is well worth the money. It rocks!
it's just not the same game as AH as far as multi player and gameplay.. it's still a blast though.

IMO they stole a page outta HT's Cloud guide, then improved on it. Clouds in IL2 are the best.

sunglare there is pretty good too
if they just make the damage/killing as easy as AH, it'd be a great game! :)

my computer would die trying to chug those graphics :(
