I've noticed lots of very good jobs here, but I'd like to input something for those of you wanting to create weathering effects
- A good place to start is oil or exhaust stains from the engine area. Around the stacks is the best place to add them. You'll want to use a light balck or grey color, or better yet a darker color of the main fuslage.
- Another simple item are gunpowder streaks behind all guns. This is easier on the wings, and it'll always be top and bottom. These would be best a dark grey of lightish black. It shouldn't or just barely match the wing color.
- If you want a good look up close, it's wise to add silver flakes to the leading edge of the wings, simulating particles and objects hitting them at high speed.
- Areas where the pilot or a crewmember would walk along the wings are good places to flake off paint.
- Around any cowling covers or engine areas, you could add silver flakes to simulate dings from tools.
OK, so they're basic, but the newbies could use it...:D
