Title: Video cards
Post by: Puck on October 26, 2002, 12:43:28 PM
I have the following options for my dedicated AH (in the cockpit) machine:

128MB ATI Radeon 9000 Pro
128MB nVidia GeForce 4 Ti 4400
128MB nVidia GeForce 4 Ti 4600

Which do you think will give the best performance with AH?

Radeon 9000 is slowest of those.

If you can afford a GF4 Ti 4600 doesn't that mean you can (almost) afford a Radeon 9700 Pro which is way better than not only the Radeon 9000 but any GeForce as well?

(Or did GF4 4600 prices drop while I wasn't looking?)

My 3D-Mark2001 scores with MSI Gf4Ti4200 64MB compared to computers with similar CPU but different videocards.

That's what I currently have sitting on the shelf (well; the high end stuff).

Looks like the ATI goes in my Linux server  :)

Staga, why is the Ti4200 listed twice on your graph?

He overclocked the video card to near 4600 levels probably.

That's what I'm doing with my Ti 4200 card, which scores 11339 on the default 3DMark 2001 SE benchmark.

Out of the cards you have, the GF 4 4600 is the fastest.

Yep, The Gf4Ti4200 with red bar is showing my overclocked card, core300/mem600.

`Bah that 9700 score must have been run on a PII machine..

They pull 20k+ scores from overclocked 9700's :)

With proper cpu power the 9700 will give you 16000 3dmark2001se points minimum.
