That picture made my heart soar!

I read the articles and saw the documentary on the recovery mission and often wondered what had ever happened to the plane.

On the site is a video of the first flight (although it would not load when I tried)

It also had the following statement:

"We would like to thank the History Channel for their permission to do this webcast. Be sure to catch their 90 minute special that will detail the P-38 Project from World War II to today! Program is set to air at 9:00PM EST on March 3, 2003 on the History Channel."
