Title: AGP v PCI
Post by: TheFox on October 28, 2002, 12:06:36 PM
Anyone know why it is that SiSoft tells me my AGP slot is disabled?

The only reason I am interested is that after about 30 minutes use, the 'Minimise' 'Maximise' and 'Close' icons at the top of each window disappear and are replaced with multi-coloured lines. The same thing happens to any 'tick boxes' in any panel. This continues until I reboot, after which everything is back to normal for the next 30 minutes.

I have removed all nvidea drivers with DetDest, removed all references to nvidea in the registry, tried different drivers etc., all without effect

I have enabled AGP in the BIOS, everything else in the system is working perfectly and I get between 55 and 100 fps in Aces High at 1280/1024/32. I guess you could say I should be satisfied - but...............

System specs are:-

Asus P4B266
P4 1.8a
512 Ram
Creative Titanium TI4400
Win98

Counld try to click on the add/remove programs in the control panel.  Select IE and then select the repair option.  May help, good luck.

I recently had a similar problem. The solution was to turn off AGP 4X
