Post by: gatso on October 28, 2002, 02:17:16 PM
Left to do: Engine cowls and some weathering on the lower surfaces an I've yet to add any specific squadron markings.

mmm. I might lighten the gun smoke on the wings too

and a Mk1  :)

Cowls are different on the Mk3 and Mk1 hence the extra work and reason I've put them off until now. Need to get rid of 2 of the gun smoke trails because the Mk1 onlt had 4 guns.

Very nice, how long does it take you to do all the detail of the panel edging and stuff? Here is one of my skins........

Berra, Panel lines and rivets on their own took abour 10 hours so far, there's still a few to go in. Another 8 hours for research, 4 hours for the paint and markings and 6 hours so far for the dirt/weathering and panel highlights.

Looking at about 40 hours total for the pair. I work fairly slowly, I've wanted to teach myself a decent graphics package for a while and this has given me a project that I can sink my teeth into.  To be honest I've kind of suprised myself with how good it looks.

those ' bazooka's'  are rocket pods, with each pod containing 3 rockets. :)

Skin is too early for D-day markings.  A later Martlet would have worn them but those markings are not possible due to the wing mirroring present on the F4F skin. sorry.
