Title: Memorial
Post by: easymo on October 28, 2002, 02:38:11 PM
My Dad just sent me a photo.  Someone put my name on the war memorial in K.C.  I remember going there to play when I was a young boy. (it was a large park back then). I remember thinking about those "old guys" and their wars.  Now, I am one of the old guys.  It is a little depressing.  But I guess it was time to "fall in".

Not to drag this out.  But of interest.  the placket to my right reads.

In memory of
Lt. Donald Walker
Pilot 388 BC KIA

Below me.

Harold E Antrim
Army Sig Corp
Korea

Above me.

In memory of
Thomas A Peace
3RD Army WW11 ETO

No one has moved into the bunk on my left yet.

I feel a little embarrassed being up there.  As a Pfc.,  I was an insignificant cog, in a very big machine. Regardless, it looks like I will be spending many years in fine company

Insignificant cog? Heck NO! ...and thanks for sharing.  :)
Remember that you're part of the fine company.
