Title: So if all you do is code all day, is it ok if your spelling suffers?
Post by: narsus on October 28, 2002, 05:01:50 PM
All I see is code, make it go away, going blind.

Seriously, when I was younger I wrote short stories, had a decent vocabulary, and could spell. I have been writing and looking at code for years now, and I fully admit my spelling and grammer are much worse, but I do have to say my coding is much better and faster. I guess there is only room in my mind for one language.

Any suggestions?

I think that is a natural progression. Especially if you using one of the more non verbose languages and doing alot of coding..And the only writing you do to humans is with a spell checker.

Well, don't ask Lazs for help. LOL!  Just kidding.

In your post there was only one mistake, so I don't think you have anything to worry about.  I might have suggested reading quality broadsheet newspapers, but doh! - if you live in America, there aren't any. I read the Telegraph - http://www.telegraph.co.uk
