Title: Duxford Flying Legends Coverage
Post by: phaetn on July 18, 2000, 11:21:00 AM
For those of you that couldn't attend the Duxford Flying Legends airshow in the UK personally, make sure to check out Dogfighter's [coverage] (http://www.dogfighter.com/reviews/show.php3?review=963759948) of the event complete with many gorgeous pics!

This post isn't too off topic if you make a lot of "vroom, vroom" sounds while looking at the images.  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Cheers,

I was there on the sunday and the spit XIV (clipped) was awesome.

Unfortunatly the Sea Fury, F7F and two F8F's put on a bit of a tame display  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)

Yep the Spit 14 stole the show a truly awesome display  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Any who complain the spits are overmodelled should be asked to watch that display and then forcibly restrained and made to watch the others including all the P51's that were there cos i am afraid they were all rather tame and boring after that.

Actually, I thought the Hurricanes and Tiger Moths gave a much better display than the Spitfires, simply for flying and manoeuvering in formation. The Spitfires showed themselves off individually and were wonderful as such, but as a display, they came off second-best.
