Is this still possible? I remember that this used to happen to me all the time... but now... never. Not in the last 6 months that I can recall. Did something change?

Still happens to me all the time.

.303's nearly wound me everytime with the first ping. THe M3's .50 cal will wound a pilot almost more often than it kills the radiator. Ju88's are damn good at it, too.
For some reason, perk planes seem to be wound magnets.
-
if your pilot is wounded and you keep flying he will eventually die
-
I used to think I had just downed one too many Jim Beams...
But one day I died and figured it had to be part of the game (hic)
:D

Weren't pilot wounds pretty common in WWII?
I thought kills involved killing the pilot just as much as killing the plane. It's not so in AH.
Maybe it's because of all the cannons used in AH.
Any comments?

Pilot wounds are one of the most sickeningly gamey parts of the game.
let me get this right, you get shot, black out, can still control the plane while blacked out, and then fade in and out of consiousness untill you die, with no other effects?
Here's a suggestion for re-worked pilot wounds,
When you get wounded, two things could happen. Reduced G tolerance and reduced strength.
So when wounded, you might black out at only 4 or 5 g's, and only be able to extert half of the force on the stick as normal, depending on how badly wounded you are. Untill you finally DO black out and die.

+ separate pilot wounds from gunner wounds.

There are plenty of pilot kills in AH. I'm always aiming at a wing or the canopy and I see a lot of planes go boom :)

Somebody is living under a rock.
I'm pretty sure they did it a while ago.

Perhaps I am mistaken... But I thought that g forces are directly connected to the wounded pilot blackouts... pull into a hard g turn that you would normally handle without any symptoms of blackout and as a wounded pilot you will black out... g's also seem to speed the death of a wounded pilot...

oops. I forgot that planes self destructed when the pilot was killed in AH.
The damage model in general, including pilot damage model, needs to be updated pretty badly.
-
Wouldn't pulling positive g's when wounded make the blood squirt out faster? If so then I guess negative g's would slurp the blood back into a wound prolonging the pilots life expectancy.
:D
Lonz
Oh, and is it CODED that you always black out when wounded and are juuust about to land, especially at a CV?
