Enthusiastic second of the motion.  The great attraction of AH is its realism, and it's a shame to have this diluted in a scenario by great, big, ugly honking ICONS (although bigger icons probably would have kept our Zero flight from attacking its own shadows on the snow two weeks ago, hehe).

I'd like that too.

And if possible, even more options to tweak with the icons. Range separately for planes/vehicles, possibility to turn type/range/country icon off or change their pop up ranges separately.  And so on.  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

a sidebar to the topic,  are the options controllable in H2H analagous to what the CMs have?

As far as I have been able to tell JimBear, Yes.

If you host a H2H session the CM commands seem to work exactly the same.

Icon options? I've got a few:

Size:
Change the size between:
normal; half-size; quarter-size.

Color:
Swap the colors avalable for it.

Pattern:
Square, rectangle, round, oval, etc...

Information displayed:
Can vary with any of the following [max 3]:
Range, plane/vehicle type, course, speed, altitude, ammo status [%], country, damage [%], extra ord [bombs =b, rockets =r etc..]

A setting to force icons off is needed for sure.  

We also really need for CMs to be able to set the range at which IFF appears, at which range numbers appear, at which plane type appears.  

We also need to be able to turn in-flight radar AND the sector counters off.

Without this stuff it will be hard to do historical scenarios.

And without historical scenarios or arenas, I can't see myself sticking around.
