LePaul, they're too busy managing their finances trying to make ends meet since they voted for over-taxation by representation. ;)

I understand that the ad was created after George Bush complained that, with all the fund raising he's been doing lately, he didn't have time to watch his favorite cartoons.

How utterly retarded...so, I guess if both houses and the presidency were filled with Republicans the United States would be perfect and we'd all have rainbows in our back yards?  This republican vs democrat stuff is getting dumber by the minute.

I'll be really surprised the first time either party gets away from the misleading, no detail headline attack tactic. Imagine, instead of a simpleton cartoon, 20 or 30 pages of in-depth, text heavy analysis of the issues with why party A's position, though flawed at some level to some group of citizens, actually has more positives than negatives and should be supported as being in the best interest of the American public as a whole.

But that’s too hard, too confusing, and too time intensive. And, if you got into the details, you might just find that neither party is really looking out for your or my best interests, except coincidentally. It's, which union will deliver the votes, or which corporation/industry association will pony up the cash to develop cute cartoon and TV attack ads in support of its best corporate interests.

Of course, politics has never really been any better in America, and I suppose it works out good enough in the end -- at least it has for over 200 years.

You miss the point of the cartoon

Mr Daschle has held up everything in the Senate....Federal Judge Appointees, HomeLand Security, etc etc...all in the name of making the Administration look bad.  Then, Daschle runs to the cameras and says how poorly the administration is performing, thanks to the log jam he's created.  C'mon!

Oh... I get it... it's about blame.

Somehow, Dubya has the ultimate authority but not the ultimate responsibility that goes with it.

"I'm a uniter, not a divider." -Bush 1999

So far... it doesn't appear so.

Democrats have controlled the state legislature of Arkansas since the "Redeemers" drove out the Republicans at the end of Reconstruction.  There has NEVER been a Republican majority in the legislature except during the brief Reconstruction period.  After 128 years of uninterrupted Democratic leadership, Arkansas ranks last in almost every category that matters.  The most prosperous counties in the state are the heavily Republican counties of the northwest.  The schoolchildren of those counties also tend to do better on the SAT 9 and Benchmark tests.

The poorest counties are in the exclusively Democratic counties of the east, southeast, and southern counties.  These counties have voting populations consisting mainly of the poor and the elderly.

I don't think the country needs to be controlled by a party whose ideas of service is establishing more programs designed to addict more people to government largesse.
