I'm not sure what running lights are?

Position lights. Those little lights on the wingtips and tailcone.
-
They work in that they'll be visible at night.. dunno the visibility distance on them.

Played it LAN again last night. All the non-flightsim FPS guys are just way into it. That says volumes.
It's just getting better and better.
Try the COOP Winter map. Incredibly the lighter the aircraft, they just slide around on the frozen tarmac, and if you get off the runway, the slop stops you!
The detail is just incredible.
Crow tastes very good.

awesome Leningrad shot. Can't wait to bomb and strafe it to hell. Maybe when I get a new computer :)

FB? Those are from Il-2.. right?
The city looks great. They still need to work on the rivers though (hehehe.. its a good thing they are frozen over ;) ).
Its most definately one of the prettiest sims out there.

Have you seen the new water effects yet Deja?

FB is an add-on to Il2 that will be released in the next couple of months... it redid the models to some of the older planes (like the MiG-3, looks real nice now) and added some new effects (using pixel shaders)... also it will have a much improved campaign system.
This thread will show you some of the new features in the campaign: http://forums.ubi.com/messages/message_view-topic.asp?name=Olegmaddoxreadyroom&id=zyepc
It looks like a great offline game, which is the only reason I'm interested in it... I thought Il2 was gonna be a great offline game, but the campaign system simply sucks.

Seems to be pretty evident that I haven't. Like I said.. they are needed. It was one thing about Il-2 that i coudn't stand.

Much nicer than that bland crap they had in Il2.

Many video cards are now crying, swulf :)

Its a step in the right direction with the water... the texture and reflections are nice. Looks like they still suffer from shoreline hideousness, however. I'd also be curious to see how it looks from altitude. It always looked like the flattened the terrain out and painted it blue before. Adding texture to it helps... but only down close.

I agree about the water margins; they seem to be very sharp and unatural (like the water just got poured in 5 mins ago). None of the FB screenshots I've seem to have improvements in that regard. However it's one small piece of fluff on a whole ton of eye candy.

actually this game rules in the graphics department.. even from altitude.
it required a GeForce3 or better to really use these new graphic features though.

Its definately less of a glaring issue than it was. I always liked the tree effect (from the air) and could not believe how badly the water ruined the landscape.
It looks like things may not be as bad in that dept anymore.

S!
Sure looks nice...Shall se what kind of P5 10GHz I need to run that one;):D

My only complaint is that they do not use any anti-aliasing at all when making those screenies. I would like to see what the game looks like with AA on.
of course, that might be too much for the hardware to handle. ;)
I don't have Il-2. AH gives me my multiplayer sim fix and I'm not into the single player thing that much, nor am I overly interested in the Eastern Front. If it was Western Front. Med or Pac, I'd be more interested. Yes, I tried the demo way back when and was impressed by everything. Just not my cup o' tea for the campaign.

I do not understand why people want to see those screenshots in FSAA... if you've seen one game with FSAA, you've seen 'em all.

Here's a new screenshot of a P40 over the harbor.. the water looks much better at those alts than it does in Il2.
