Hello!
I just got my new computer built and it all works fine except that I am really surprised at the very low fps with this card and my overal setup.
Heres what I got:
Win2000
DirectX8.1
Catalyst 2.3 Drivers
AMD XP2000+
Radeon 9700 Pro
ASUS A7V8X (AGP set to 8X in BIOS)
512MB PC2700 Corsair Cas2 (Turbo on and Latency set to 2 3 3 6 in BIOS)
WD800JB 80Gig HD
350watt PS
Volcano 7+ CPU cooler
What is causing such low FPS?

I'll bet your monitor refresh rate is 75 Hz.
-
Its 60hz. I wondered about this because I read on tomshardware that Win2000 and XP will only let you run fullscreen games at 60hz refresh rate.
My monitor is capable of up to 120hz, what would be a good setting with that in mind?

I just upped it to 100hz and the max fps is still75.....

Are you running windows xp or 2k?

OK! I thought that might be it... :D Thx fellas, my monitor maxes out at 120hz and now I get 120fps... :D

My monitor maxes at 75 and my GeForce 4 4600 pushes Aces to 75 FPS everywhere. New monitor should push more :)
