i got fed up at the stupid code thing with the smiley faces where you have to practically memorize the combination as you go

moose think of it this way, you only have to memorize about 4 moves at any given time.

I got stuck on the lift up stairs where you have to move the chair to push the knob.  The pot plant must do something but bugger knows what.

SPOILER!!!

Spook - change the floor so the rat head thing pops into the other room.  Take the tiles off the wall in the other room and put them in the slots underneath the stairs.  Catch the rat head thing in the diskette box and put it behind the tiles in the stairs. (you need to pull the tiles back a bit)   Door should open then.  :D

The plant doesn't do anything, but you might need the chair to reach the button on the top of the stairs.

got the machine to work by lighting the fire and turning off the lamp.

Took the cut up pieces back to the security box and installed them.

Now what?

There are two ways to install the pieces.  One will open the lock.

Move the mat by the door....the key will fall thru the grate into the basement.  Go back into the other room and move the rug...then start clicking on the floor tiles.  They will fall thru and reveal a trapdoor.  Then use the firehose to climb down into the lower level and use the flashlight to look around and find the key.  Go back up and unlock the door.  :)

hey dingbat just go to the door with the keypad and type 12864.

Or look on top of the cabinet for the floppy disk holder.  Go to the computer room and take the pin from the poster and use it on the floppy disk holder to get the disk out.

LOL...just did.  I spent 20 minutes on this part yesterday and gave up.  Just tried it again and figured it out in a couple of minutes!  Stupid game.  :D
