Title: Name This.
Post by: Fancy on November 03, 2002, 09:34:30 PM
I'm not a big ID fan, but I came across this and thought it kind of strange.  Can anyone guess what it is, what it is derivevd from, and what it was used for.

Nope, but your close to the EASY part of the question.  It IS a modified V1, but look at the wheels and that bar in front.

Staga's right on the nose.  It's basically a V1 fuselage filled with gas for the Ar234.  Sounds like a TNT pack strapped to your back if you ask me.

the fixed gear on the V1 look like they might cause a bit of excess drag at 450 mph

1 shot at that tank and you can say byebye to your presious bomber. but than again, I dont think planes could ever keep up with the Ar234...

Why would one shot equal instant dead AR-234?  Getting shot in the fuel tank on an airplane doesn't mean explosion, it usually means fuel leak.  Since the towed fuel tank would leak fuel behind the plane and any ignition sources, it seems like it'd be an annoyance requiring you to jettison the tank, not something that would kill you.
