what was the germans haviest bomber, i always thought it was the He-111 but when i watch the battle of britain movie my unlce rented for me, it didnt look all that great, it had few guns and little armor and not alot of crew. i always thought it was kinda like the b-17, with wait guns ans stuff, and alot bigger, because compared to a person that thing looks like an attack plane more than a heavy bomber?

Prototypes: Ju390, 75.500kg loaded (more like a maritime recon plane).
in active use: He177, 31.000kg loaded.
Just a guess...

He-177, not the He-111.

Neat plane. It had four engines, but only two motor nacelles. Each nacelle had two engines coupled to one propellor. It caused lots of problems.
Near the end of the war, an He-177 was in the process of being modified to drop an atomic bomb, but the german A-Bomb project was dramatically behind ours, thankfully.

lol thank god....
so the HE-111 was a medium bomber or a light bomber?

Didnt Focke Wulf make a heavy bomber out of a marine patrol AC or something? FW-200 I think it was?
-

Loaded FW200 "Condor" is about 10.000kg lighter than He177 "Greif".
