Just heard Pelosi on C-Span.
Her three priorities:"The Children, The Children, The Children"
I didn't hear her say the Dems would have any new ideas. She feels that it will be the Dems job to whine about Reps proposals.
There was no mention that the US is at war. She didn't even seem to know or say anything about national security.
I think the Dems in the house will be in the minority for a long time.
She supplied a list as evidence to the press that she has the votes to be minority leader.

even democrats think Pelosi is a left wing wacko, and the vote for minority leader is a secret vote, so a vote "promised" is not always a vote delivered

i htink this would be the death rattle for the dem party as far as the house goes if they put this ultra lib CA lady in charge
I would like to hear what the dems on this board think of her and what the agenda her election would state
I think the Republucans would welcome her as she is so far left as to be ridiculous.

Her concern is well-understood. American children are in danger of being brough up by their own parents. Parents may even have greater chance to influence their children education. It must be stopped...

she was against the war with Iraq .. voted against it
on the eve of the UN seeing it Bushs way, she steps up to "lead" the left
10/03/2002 House Democratic Whip Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) issued the following statement this afternoon about the new Congressional resolution authorizing military force against Iraq:
"The decision of whether to send our brave men and women in uniform to war is the most solemn and serious choice we face as Members of Congress. Before putting our young people in harm’s way, we must be certain there is no other recourse.
"Because I do not believe we have exhausted all diplomatic remedies, I cannot support the Administration’s resolution regarding the use of force in Iraq. I am also extremely concerned about the impact of such action on our war against terrorism.
"As the ranking Democrat on the House Select Committee on Intelligence, I have seen no evidence or intelligence that suggests that Iraq indeed poses an imminent threat to our nation."
