If we were to ask HTC to create an early war bomber for us, it seems to me that it would be nice to have a "generic" one. That is, it should be as close to average in speed, toughness, bombload and fire power as possible. We could then skin it in different colors (for immersion) and call it something else for the purposes of setups such as this weeks.
Which bomber do you think might be the most "average" for 1939/1940?

Well, the Blenhim might be a good one, but hey the Boston was in the Batle of France, granted an earler one then the one we have but not to far off. How about a Cant Z 1007.
Realy Either an Italian Z 1007 or a Blenhim, personaly The Italian plane would add more to the overall planeset imo.

For European settings, stuff like the Blenheim, Wellington, Cant Z 1007 or He-111 come to midn as a pretty generic bombers.
In the Pacific/CBI theaters, you have things like B-25C/D's, G4M's, Ki-27's and B-17E/B-24D's.
The Boston/A-20 was around at this time, but was relatively little-used until later in the war.

S!
Personally I would like to see the Wellington.
The 'Wimpy' was around through most of the war, and actually was a decent aircraft.
Carries a lot of bomb tonage, has ok defences and quite durable.
Probably a Wellington II.
But probably Brady is right, we do need an Italian bomber first.
And that should be the Cant. Z1007

Ya the Wellington is a cool plane.

Wellington great choice as would be the Il-4 or the Hudson. Earlier war planes tended toward smaller payloads. The Do-17 had a pathetic loadout.
