I always hear people talking about their framerates changing going higher and lower. I noticed on my machine my framerate remains at a constant 75. I have played with all the video graphics settings and am unable to get a higher or lower framerate.

I recently switched from a Gforce 3 ti 200 vid card to a Gforce 4 ti4600 vid card and again my frame rate has never changed. How is it that some people get frame rates around 100 or more yet I am stuck at 75?

Hears all my specs: AMD Athalon XP2000, ASUS A7A266 motherboard, 2 Sticks of 512 mb DDR Ram, Sound blaster live 5.1, Gforce 4 Ti4600, 60 Gig hd,20 Gig hd, CDRW 32*12*48,DVD drive, 19 inch CTL flat screen monitor, Using windows xp home edition.

The reason yours is capped out at 75 is your monitor. If you want to break 75 FPS you will need to override vertical sync on your GeForce 3 (there are downloads available if you do not wish to hack your registry).

? please elaborate about the monitor part, and also I am not running the g3 anymore I am running the G4. If their is a download like you said where does it come from Nvidia?:D

Why do you want more fps? 75 is more than sufficient! Mine never goes above that either.

Your eyes won't distinguish anything different above 30 fps, so if it doesn't drop below that on big furballs you're fine. :)

Actually human eyes can notice more than 30fps. tho once you get around 60-70 any more frames wont make much difference.

You'll have to get nvmax or some other refresh fix program to set your monitor higher than 75hz to get more fps. ot turn off v-sync.

I am currently running at 85 mhz for refresh rate, As far as adjusting V-sync im a bit lost on how to do that?

You really do not want to disable v-sync.  It has the potential of causing problems in Aces High (i.e. rubber bullets,..missed targets,....).

Thankyou all for your input in this matter. I wasn't complaining about my fps just curious as to why it never changes. I don't like messing with those utility programs I was just curious if their was anything on my computers end that was limiting the fps. I guess from the responses that 75 is pretty good so I will be content with it. Again Thankyou all for your help.

Just so it's clear. Your monitor is what is limiting you, not your video card.

Actually, I wanted see how high I could go and this thread reminded me I never set it back when It only made 5 frames of difference
