Ohhh, this ones gonna get flames! (Flame suit on)
There are a lot of vets that if they see their side playing "Hide the CV", they give the enemy the coordinates of said CV. Join us. Report the location of your CV if its being denied to your countrymen by being hidden.
Thank you!
-
Rip,
I have a great deal of respect for you and your squad, but I will hide CV's if I deam it nescessary.
-
If you deem it necessary? Your position seems unsupportable. What circumstances would hiding a CV be anything other then sour grapes poor sportsmanship?
-
I like to give away the coordinates of a "hidden CV" and then up with a Ta-152 and intercept the incoming bombers.

It has to stay on the map now though right? Not like when it could be 200 miles off the edge.
-
Question:
If my country were to lose the port and I sent the cv away from action, would that be "sour grapes poor sportsmanship" or a pragmatic tactic?
This is not an attack...just a tool to allow us to ponder :D

I pledge always to give the location of a captured enemy CV that is being hidden purposely and taken out of the game.
Hell.........I do anyway, as they say if ya don't use it, lose it.
Call on me Rooks and Knights.....I'll give ya the position on channel 1. To me hiding a CV to languish in oblivion is lousy gameplay.
-
I find the reaction to spilling the hidden-captured-cv's location on Ch # 1 quite hilarious.
In fact I'm suprised the FDBs haven't picked it up in their Charter along with chute whines.
Same with off-mappers :)

Drunky sights the only time I would partake in such an endevor, I always keep them on the map, howeaver I must say i hardely ever do this anymore, since I do not play in the MA all that much, but in therioury I suport the action based on Drunky's scenario. One could even go so far as to say it provides an imputious for a special mishion that actualy gets people fired up from the ordanary furball feviour, the quest for the CV, mis a just and holly endevore a truly richious cause, and rember my friends their is no defense aganst the sucide dweeb.
I don't see why HTC doesent just model the Baka and cut to the chase, all those sucide dweebs jaboing the CV might just give them a perk sucide plane so at least it caust's them somthing:)

ripsnort the hidden cv creates a use for the currently useless ar234
load it up with drop tanks and rato and ditch the 500kg bomb and recon.
It is quite fun to find these cv's
they are almost always in typical hiding spots so if ou scout these locations its almost a sure thing to pinpoint their location.
i did this last week when rooks were hiding a bish cv.
loaded up an ar234 and blasted off to 12k in search of it.
about 15 minutes later i could see a cv in the distance from the bubblenose canopy of the 234 and i hightailed it back to base climbing to 16k to take advantage of the westerly winds aloft at that altitude.
Within minutes of landing i coordinated a strike package of a20 havocs with p51d escorts traveling on the deck to the target.
we popped up about 20 miles away and climbed to altitude.
As we got close we found to our amazement not 1 cv but 2 carriers!!!
I assigned our two best jabo pilots to hit the first cv with everything they had while the rest of us waited for the results.
they nailed it with every bomb and sent it to the bottom. freeing the rest of us to attack the second carrier with a vengence.
a minute later the rooks lost their second carrier :)
you dont have to use spies for the cv though this is a perfectly legitimate option. but by doing so you are overlooking the only recon mission we have in aceshigh.
its quite fun you should try it if you want a change from the normal way of finding enemy carriers.
and don't get adgitated by any tactics the other side uses. use your own tactics to defeat theirs. spies or recon planes do a fine job almost every time :)

Hey if the knights are hidding a cv just ask me ill tell ya where it is. Hell let me know when you get close ill jump in the big guns and show you where it is. The last time we was on the mindano map brady5 had a rook cv hid for 2 days like the rooks aint got nuff problems with the numbers like they are we gotta pull some crap like that.
-
Well, now in all fairness I only hepled to hide it, since It was already hidden, when I came on and I did sleep some that night:), the knights were also hurting that day, the rooks actualy had numbers as I rember.
But since our squad changed to rooks to help with the balance issue, I will no longer be hidding Rook CV's:)
-
ROTFLOL Sirloin :) Made my evening.
Brady, respect for you , just not for your opinion on an offensive weapon being used in a defensive mode. I give ya two weeks 'fore your hiding it in Rookland ;) Keep your "roots" in mind, you were once a dweeb on a suicide run on the CV, how else did we all learn? ;)
-
If one of our CVs is hidden for over 24 hours by another country then I simply join the other country at the end of the night and report the location. By the time I come back to play the time limit is up and I can join my country again.
-
This isn't WW2, this is AH. Denying a courty access to there cv is a legitimate tactic. The ease of destroying a carrier with no meaningful penelty for death makes it so.
-
Well I vowed no MA untill the tour reset's, was geting a bit burnt, and I wanted to spend more time in the CT, some good set up's coming in their, Buzz has a diferent one that I am interested in playing on to see how it works out, and sabre's Burma has been fun, pluss we have a New Finland map coming with a ton of custom skins, even if you all dont care for the CT to much you should come and see the work this guy did on this map, man o man, ASW is doing a winter Map for NW Europe, snoooow wil be very cooool:).
Ok off my soap box, so in light of this If a cv is hidden in rookland it will not be by me, at least not withen the next 2 weeks:)

As I posted in another thread, I usually give up CV coordinates when some dweeb is just retiring the Group from action, and not using it.
But this is not the case with the current number situation. There is no way Rookland can defend, let alone use, CV's. The only way to defend ourselves is negating the use of whatever resource the other countries can possibly have.
Not only I will not give CV coordinates in this situation, but I would myself drive them out of action if they are remotely at risk.
-
Hiding the CV is a legitimate tactic of war , and every country in every war has tried to do so .
Now If we had a submarine fleet then it would be even more important to hide the CV's.
As a Rooklander ive found hiding a CV when our numbers are low has helped sway the war back to our favor later as the numbers of Rooks increase. (exspecialy on the isle's map)
