Title: For all those with CH probs....
Post by: GG1 on November 14, 2002, 10:02:33 PM
I had a CH Products flight system on AW4Windows though AWIII, which no longer worked with Aces High. The setup was as follows: CH Force FX, CH Pro Throttle, CH Pro Pedals. My problem was basically the throttle and pedals not responding within Windows ME. I contacted CH Products, and after a few emails was basically told to go and buy a USB flight system. Well, cheap ole me didn't want to fork out $300+ for a new setup. Considering myself somewhat of a PC guru (A+ and Network+ cert'd), I narrowed down the problem to my Creative Audigy gameport. My first alternative was to try an old Aureal Vortex SQL2500. This failed to initialize on my P4T-E mobo. Without an ISA slot to install my old Gamecard, I decided to run to Wally World (Wal-Mart for you yankees) and pick up a card. I chose the SB16 PCI card for $25. I got home and threw it in. ALL OF MY EQUIPMENT RAN PERFECT. The reason I chose this card, is due to the fact that it was based off of the ISA version of the original sound blaster (which had a real gameport). After making sure my flight system was in order, I tossed the Audigy X-Gamer back in for my 5.1 sound system and voila! I am ready to play finally with my stick of choice. Below are my system specs.

P4 2.4 GHz (CPU)
512 MB RDRAM PC800 (Memory)
30 GB 7200 RPM U133 HDD
P4T-E (Motherboard)
SB16-PCI (Gameport/Sound)
Audigy X-Gamer (Sound)
GeForce4 Ti4600 (Video)
Linksys LNE 100 TX (NIC)
Linksys Router with ADSL

CH Force FX
CH Pro Throttle
CH Pro Pedals
