Thought you Nakajima A6M2(Zero) fans would like to see this:
There is a company about a half hour
from where I live that is building
brand new Zeros from original blueprints
and copying parts from an original Nakajima-built A6M2 Model 21.
Since these photos were taken, the 1st zero
was complete minus engine.
It was sent to Gerry Beck's Tri-State Aviation in the U.S., for engine install and flight testing.
According to a local newspaper it has been sold.
They have built enough components to build
2 more "New" Zeros.
(....looks in his piggy bank & sighs)

Cool...there was a company I visited a few years ago in Florida while attending an AW Con that was doing the same with ME-262s. They had an original (mostly) from an airbase on the east coast that they were going to restore, and they were making new ones to sell - based largely (i think) on measurements, etc from the original. One that they had done, ready for test flight had a CD player in it..and I'm fairly certain it had A/C too! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Wish they had a web site, it'd be nice to see where they are now.
