Gf4Ti4200 is 15-20% faster vid-card.

What version of the Radeon drivers were you using when you compiled that data Staga?

Only reason I ask is due to the gains in the current drivers.  The 3DMark score looks awfully low.  Mine runs at over 9,000.  Just asking.

Staga not really valid test as you have the LE version of the Radeon which is an underclocked version of the standard 8500.
Having said that Ti4200 good value for money, cheaper than Radeon 8500 and faster.
Replaced dead GF3Ti500 with GF4TI4200 and gained 2000 point up to 10,275 from 8200.

Try shopping in the UK ;)

I could have purchased a R8500LE 64mb for £99 plus shipping, however I opted for the 128mb GF4Ti4200 for £128 off the shelf at my local store no shipping charge.

However to buy the R8500 at the same store would have cost another £38 and it would only have been the underclocked LE version.

The R8500 just pips the GF3Ti500 in performance, the LE version is slower.

Soo for less money i purchased a faster graphics card, however i am well aware it may not be the same difference world wide.

I could not have purchased this card any cheaper at my usual web based supplier (very unusual).

Besides when your old card dies a death and your in a hurry i would have purchased any available card capable of running AH.
