raw or otherwise?
My squad scores tod kills on a kill board and we like to track this stuff...
Here (http://www.3-jg2.com/Point.html)
We like to keep track so if possible can we see the logs?
-
yeah, I gotta keep feeding my database or our scoreboard (http://www.56thfightergroup.net/63fs/pilots.php) doesn't change either. Gotta have those stats!! :)
-
Gremlin will post them as soon as he gets home.
-
As do we :) Thanks Nifty.

2 hours to frame 2

:(
-
Guys,
I thought this week was frame one. Ill do up both sets right now, they'll be up very shortly. Sorry my bad.
-
Psst... Wotan. I are you including virtual deaths in your stats? That does tend to deflate the numbers a bit. ;)
Are you keeping track of the scores manually?
-
Our scores just arent tod scores they include snapshots, squad missions, tods and scenarios.
We had discussed a reset after a death or a point deduction. Something like airframes lost and pilot deaths would had been counted. But these scores are just for squad purposes and are there only to reward participation by our squad in such events.
So deaths play no part in our "score".
Heinkel updates the point board manually based on the logs.
-
Well that is some system you got there wotan. Sure makes your squad look like a squad full of Adolph Gallands. But hey, the real LW inflated their scores as well so you are right in line:D
-
IMO it's better that deaths aren't included.
If we did include deaths, then we would fly differently, so that our chances of getting killed are less. Flying differently means BnZ, flying at hi alts only, avoiding combat and so on....basically all the stuff you see in the MA ;)
Without deaths included, there is nothing to worry about (ie your Jg2 score) when you dive down to the deck to save a squadie, or go into a fight outnumbered.
....Just my opinion on why our system is better than the MA system for TOD scores.
-
pad our score?
We dont need to too. Seems we met a lot of you 56th in frame 1 of tod. 26k to the deck and in the clouds, 3 g10s 1 190d9 vrs 7, d30s
Tell me if any of this is inflated?

How did you all do? Eng togglers and all....
Our main scores are for public consumption. As a squad we stack up against any other. Our Point Board is just a inter squad thing that have little to do with much of anything except service to the squad during specific events.

Wotan!!! :D
My LW sweared enemi Ace hehehe. I can't wait for the war to be over so I can hang out in a cabaret with you.
Poping up the scores of last Frame when you caught the 56th (I would say half of it, other half was hunting 110s) low just after they engaged FWs doesn't make you look good. Especially G10s vs piggy snow white .
But ... a kill is a kill and I'm happy you guys wacked us. It's good sports, the 56th decimates the JG2, the JG2 ravages the 56th ... it's all in good fun from 2 very good squads.:D Don't be offended by Sancho/Ammo, they teasing you, natural reaction from an "enemi brother".
Heinkell,
We see it the OTHER way. For us, not trying to live and succomb
to the tentation to go low get the kill deep into Germany is a MA type of behavior. Trying to live, runing if you have to is our spirit of the TOD and I adventure myself to say "the only spirit of the TOD".
Those raids over Germany are a nightmanre for us. Especially when we have the D30, that means we fight against Ubber stuff like G10s, D9s, 262s, TA152s ... all the German crap that makes a already experienced pilot like JG2 guys a serial killer. Moreover, we have no radar so no way to say :"ok clear to go low and finish the fight". When you try to live and you know that :
- having to bail ends your 5 month streak
- 1 ping at the oil ends your 6 month streak
- 1 lucky ping pilot wound ends your streak
Your balls are sweating and the sight of a LW plane ruins your day, especially when it's up there and you down there... even co alt, the guy can run you down if he wants to.
With this system, in the 56th we had some epic flights and we appreciated every minute of it. Heck a RTB without a kill is worth every dime with flights like yesterday, where we were in sight of a LW plane for 1h40 minutes. What I hate to see and fight is someone who doesn't care about dying in the TOD as we don't play )on the same level, or with the same cards if I may say).
WotanAs far as killboard, well it's just a matter of personal preferences and we cannot compared both our squads, even if it would be interesting due to the nature of our squad love affair  If we apply the same "board" and Heinkel's principles, we all would be ubber aces but we don't see a point to it. Just a difference of choice.
Doing so, being an ace in the 56th, is something rare. You need to have a 5 kill streack in a P47 only.
So far, since the TOD started and 56th was created:
Ammo has 17 kills, dead streak (captured)
Frenchy has 14 kills, live streak
Sancho has 11 kills, dead streak (captured)
Nomde has 5 kills, dead streack (captured)
Nomde just joined the "club" last frame! (woot woot). As you see, being an ACE in the 56th is something our pilots have to sweat for big time ... makes it look more realistic for us.
I'm sure you guys will understand our difference of oppinion, JG2s

yeah, and not mentioning that his squad wasn't the only LW in the area too. :D Not to take anything away from your accomplishment, though. I you with all sincerity. We don't win every fight but we definitely learn from the tough fights.
My point was not to dig at you guys (well maybe a *tiny* bit :) ) but merely satisfy my curiousity about how you guys handle the score page, since I do the same for my squad. Big numbers are definitely possible when you are counting total kills minus any deaths, which is why we have adopted kill streaks as our score method.
Historically, allied scores were lower than the LW, and so ours are on our webpage. When a squaddie of ours gets a 5 kill streak in P-47s in a scenarios flying as 56th FG, that is indeed a rare and distinct accomplishment. I think it's pretty cool anyways.
Frenchy hits the nail on the head though. Different squads have vastly different philosophies. Ours tries (in TOD) to "fly to live" while still being aggressive. Others just want to rack up numbers no matter how many times you die, which IMO is more like the MA. If I'm guilty of anything its that I like TOD to be realistic. I want my enemy to fly like he's afraid of dieing, since I fly the same way. If I didn't care, I'd be flying in the MA instead of TOD.

All I saw sancho was was 1 110 getting arse raped by 2 p47s when I got there. Brady and heinkel got there before me and erl though so I dunno what was going on then but the guy I st engaged was co alt and broke hard and dove to the clouds. I went up and soon spotted another jug coming through the cloud deck at 23k.
But anyway that aint the point Frenchy has owned me in these events when I ever he is in the same airspaceas me he kills me.
As for ammo's toejam stirrin thats nothing new but you hardly pushed any "button". It was just for me easy to post those logs as reply.
We reward aggression not just surviving. Our k/d which could be higher are above the average even given our love for the furbal. Who said anything about "uber" aces. That comes from your squadmates. My original post was to show we have an interest in seeing the logs beyond just wanting to know who killed who. I didnt want to seem like I was squeaking at gremlin (who should be S!for stepping up). Anything beyond that is on your squaddies.
There is nothing special about "surviving" anyone can avoid combat and cherry pick. We like combat. But thats our choice and its certainly up to the folks who fly AH and events to find their own fun. It wasnt us who pointed to your scores and said look at all them ju88 kills :)
But if folks wanna talk smack about scores we can as well.
If all else fails we might be convinced to head to the DA. We have a few guys who love duels and we currently working on our tactics. The only problem we would have is working out when as the next couple of months alot of my free time is taken up by rl.
But we could try to work something out if its something you guys would like.
Anyway despite ammos self appointment as a member of the whine gestapo the 56th are a great squad. It wasnt JG2 that brought up your scores. We certainly never claimed "uber" ace status.
edit we dont count Aces at all. 5 kills in a scenario are more a product of being in the right place at the right time. That and some luck. In Bigweek I flew up ded 6 and and killed 5 b17s in 1 pass. Hardly the stuff of aces. Then in BoB the raf vectored around the 109s using their radar and scout aircraft. So 5 kills were very rare to came overall.
Even looking at our score from frame 1 and 2 of this tod. The 1st frame we had fights from start to the end and as a squad we ended with 23 kills. Last frame we ran into 14 p51s in 2 groups in the north. After that we fly from a11 to p5 seeing nothing then 2 of us ran into the 412th 51s while looking for bombers. We had guys land and log out of boredom.

If I was a "whine police" I wouldnt have to go far to find it. Even so, I was just throwing a little friendly banter. As it is, I like and respect many of the members of your squad. They are some great pilots and we share a passion.
No reason to get your dander up though. If it is just a matter of a you-me thing, well I can live with whatever makes you happy.
peace

A squad duel would be fun, the problem we have is managing to get all of our guys in one arena at the same time. e struggle enough with TOD's. But I am game for whatever sancho and crew wants.
-
Same here ammo a duel would be fun but its tough getting the guys together here as well.
I dont I think I am the aggravated person you think I am, maybe its my typing style.........
Anyway

I'm too skeered of urchin and his body hair.

The 332nd Flying Mongrels will duel either of your squads. As long as we have a 2 to 1 advantage and you go easy on us. ;)
