Title: Don't release 1.08 til after the con
Post by: hblair on October 04, 2001, 01:32:00 PM: HTC, I think I speak for all members of the community when I say don't worry about releasing version 1.08 before the con. Take a weeks vacation, then do the con, then release 1.08 later this month. You guys deserve it. This will take pressure off of you and let you relax and enjoy the con.

Everyone agree with me?

P.S. That I am 450km away from my computer and controls,and the fact that I can't play until 1-2 weeks, has NOTHING to do with me agreeing. No, really. I mean it. I promise. :D

I am sure that there is a lot of trouble-shooting to be done with a new release. I would rather have the HTC crew can be well rested so that they can fly 20 hours a day with us at the Con.

I'm really happy you get to go to the convention bro. I also envy you in that respect. But while you all are all drinking yourselves stupid and meeting all the other cool guys of AH. We will be sitting here drooling over this new patch.

Damn the wife, Damn the kids. Hey guys have alot of fun and have a few drinks for the 'ol Pyroman while your there. Heck if you did a toast for me and took a picture of it I would really be touched.

Anyway, I would love to see 1.08 before hand. As much as I hate to say this but I doubt we'll say this till after the convention because they'll want all there people there and not sitting in there cubicals fixing bugs!

Lord knows this sounds negative and it's not meant too. So PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE don't flame me ;)

Imagine the pressure of having to finish 1.08 with no bugs in it before a deadline?

All those bugs everyone is getting with the betas need to be ironed out before 1.08 can be released. Then of course you have the obligitory small patches afterward to address the small issues.

It would ruin the idea of the con if ht was sitting there working on coding issues while the rest of us had fun. Im most looking forward to getting to meet everyone from htc and i think it's considered R+R for all who attend.

I have no problems right now waiting. I dont know how anyone else could, either.
