I posted this as a alternative to another suggestion in another thread, but considered it as perhaps I good idea for discussion (unless it has already been suggested).
Vaguely I remember in DOA there was a arty element with co-ords coming from the observers in an spotter plane....there might be something in that for AH....perhaps some type of generic arty that can be called down from an observation a/c say a Storch, Fw-189, or Auster I-V.

Granted, artillery would be a nice addition - but you'd be sooo dead in one of those spotter planes...

I recal a long time ago Pyro mentioned it,( I beleave he did).
I think it would be very cool, the Storch, and the FW 189 are two of my favorate planes.
I think they would be fairely surviable, their very slow spead a nd superlative handeling would make them extreamly hard to hit.
The FW 189 could also cary a usefull load, and I beleave later models had 20mm cannons.

Arty could be used to demolish a town at a capped field.

I'd like to see somethin similar to the 5"er on the cv at bases....would have to be re-inforced like a SB....THAT stop them pesky vulchers...kinda like a mannbale 88

I like the idea of a spotter plane being necessary for accurate artillery. You cant capture a field without a goon - so why should you be able to hit it with arty if you cant see it?
Good idea.
